Any one use Dr. Daniel Huacuz-Tijuana?
missy4gordon replied to weightshaker's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Sorry, I can't help you. I paid with a cashier's check. -
Unfortunately, I do not have to make that decision. We have one gym, and I use that term loosely, in my tiny little town. They do not offer child care or personal trainers. The aerobics, when they have them, is at 6:00 am to 7:00 am, which doesn't work for me even if I wanted to go to them. BUT, if I GOT to choose with what Paula mentioned, I would definately choose the gym. I would absolutely love it! I spend enough time in my house, I love to get out and that would be a great excuse to go. Plus, to have a personal trainer! That would be awesome, for someone to show me what to do to gain the best results, just what I need. But, I don't get to make that choice, bummer. Our "gym" is sad, I joined once and quickly grew tired of it.

what was your weight-gain pattern?
missy4gordon replied to vinesqueen's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was thin as a kid and early twenties. Got pregnant and gained a big portion of the weight. Stayed the that same weight until got pregnant second time and did it again, gained too much and then stayed there. -
Nobody has mentioned Elliott. I think he is pretty good too.

Is it just me, or was the Chicken Little thing kind of mean. I didn't think it was funny, but I have a soft spot for him.

One word....CHRIS!! Ace was my favorite in the beginning but Chris has stolen me away! Last night he sang "Hemmorage" by Fuel, he did an amazing job! He sounded just like, IF NOT BETTER, than the group themselves. I love the way Taylor does the "whoo", that shows how much fun he is having and how easy it is for him. Ace didn't do it for me last night, I was disappointed. I definately think it is all about the guys, they have so many different styles and genres. To me they are more entertaining than the girls. Love this show! PS I hope cutie pie Kevin can stay one more week, he is too cute! The crooner should go.

Ok, I am SUPER glad that Drew won. I was his fan since the first time I saw him dance. But, is it me or was it just WRONG that Stacy was third and Jerry Rice got second? I mean come on, how many times did Stacy and her partner get perfect scores and the best Jerry did was like a 27. And what was up with only giving Drew and Cheryl a 27 on their final dance?? Something is weird about the voting..... Drew and Cheryl Rock!!!:clap2: Loved that show! Next up, my favorite..... The Apprentice!!!

Your most embarrassing fat moment (sad, funny, pathetic, turning points)
missy4gordon replied to chameleon's topic in The Lounge
I was checking out at the grocery store. Now, I live in a town of about 1500 people, so we all know each other. As I'm checking out, the girl behind the counter asks me when I am going to finally have that baby.....I had the baby two weeks before. Ouch.... -
Yes, Stacy is the blonde with the amazing legs. Jerry Rice is the football player who ended up getting 2nd place. Drew Lachey got 1st. Lisa Rinna was voted off the episode before the finals.

oops, I was just looking at names and faces of the guys and I thought that Ace was the one that sang Bon Jovi, but he really sang Father Figure by George Michael, and that is who I was thinking in my head is the hottie. The dude that sang Bon Jovi was good, just not the guy I pictured in my head. Ace is the MAN!!!

I think Kelly Pickler is as sweet as can be! I don't think she's the best singer there, but there is a sweetness about her, I think. I also think the 16 year old boy cutie pie with glasses is just too adorable. I hope Simon will take it easier on him, he looks so fragile. I had to miss the eliminations last night. I can't remember his name, but I like the one who sang the Bon Jovi song Dead or Alive, he's hot, the total package. I don't know which girl I like the best yet. I love American Idol!!

When we first got internet back in the 90's, I went to Yahoo to register for the chat rooms, specifically the sports rooms. Well, being a HUGE Jeff Gordon fan (NASCAR), I had to show that to everyone in my screen name. My first name is Melissa but have always gone by Missy, 4=for, Gordon, Missy4Gordon. That way everybody knew who my favorite driver was. I have kept that screen name everywhere I go so I don't have to remember any others. I still love him too! Any other NASCAR fans?

I am a deputy in the Clerk of Court office in our County Courthouse. (I know everybody's little secrets!) Back in August 2005, a couple of weeks before my lap band surgery, a guy flipped out when the sheriff's deputies tried to serve a protection order on him and he came and set our police department and the courthouse on fire! Then he shot a police officer in a round of gun fire. We had only left the courthouse about 20 minutes before he poured the gasoline in the doorway to set the fire. That was big news here! It is a small county and things like that just don't happen here!

Hi Cindy, I'm glad to see you are doing well! How did your trip back to Mexico go? Was the recovery similar to the first surgery? I have only lost a total of 34 lbs so far, not that I'm complaining!! I have to get my butt in gear and get another fill, so far I have only had one. I still haven't gotten a bill from the first time, so I have no idea how much it cost. Well, have fun at Red Lobster, I am drooling now, Red Lobster is my absolute favorite!!! Keep up the good work, and happy birthday!!

I would love to come, I love Red Lobster, but I live too far away! Has anyone heard from Cindyh?? I haven't heard from her since December when she was going back to Mexico to fix her kinked tube. Is she doing ok?

I am fat because I am lazy and bored, plain and simple. I was a popular teenage cheerleader and basketball player, (looking back now I know I was thin and cute, but didn't think so at the time). Very active in high school and I worked part time. My mom did everything, cooked good meals, cleaned the house, did laundry. I had no responsiblity at home and never learned to cook, so now as an adult, my husband does more than his share of household stuff. I sit and stare at a computer at work all day for over ten years now and ate nothing but junk while doing it. I'd go home and eat very unhealthy supper, eating out because I can't, or don't want to cook, sit and watch TV the rest of the night, and that has been going on for many years now. When I got pregnant the first time, I thought that gave me license to eat even more and do even less, and I was honestly shocked when the weight didn't fall off after the baby came out, I had never had a weight problem before so I really was shocked at how big I got. I hate healthy food and LOVE all the junk. It's all my fault and now I am paying for it.

Any one use Dr. Daniel Huacuz-Tijuana?
missy4gordon replied to weightshaker's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Congratulations!! You have made the first step! Since you are asking my opinion about Dr. Huacuz, I will tell you first that I am in no way being compensated for my endorsement of him, this is completely how I feel regarding my experience with him. It was implied earlier that we may be compensated for saying nice things, maybe you read that. I had started to read really negative stories about him AFTER I had made my appointment with him, so I was scared right away about him. I am so glad I went to him anyway. So anyway....I can't say enough good things about Dr. Huacuz. He is wonderful. I was so scared when I got there, I can't even describe, but literally, the moment he came in to talk to me, I felt sooo much better. I completely trusted him right away and I would not hesitate to go back to him again if say he moved to the US. I did not like being in TJ at all, couldn't wait to get back to the US, I just felt like a fish out of water, culture shock. Everybody was super nice but I was still very uneasy, one thing I wish I would have known was how to call home from my cell phone. Maybe that is what scared me so much, I didn't know how to contact anybody. Anyway, I still get e-mails from Dr. Huacuz, he has sent me 3 holiday e-cards. I haven't contacted him at all because I haven't needed to, which is good, that means all is well right. I think he is a skilled surgeon with a great bedside manner to put you at ease. I hope you have as great an experience with him as I did! Good luck and please, keep me posted!! Missy:clap2: -
Retd today from Dr. Kuri - GOOD experience
missy4gordon replied to imalene's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I had my surgery with Dr. Huacuz on 8/30/05, and I just want to tell you, what a great man! I was extremely scared once I first got there and was ready to run away, but the minute he came in to talk to me, I instantly felt better. I had no problems following my surgery, Dr. Huacuz himself, brought me and my mom to another facility to do the barium swallow and after that, he himself checked us into the nice hotel. He came back later that evening to see how I was doing and left me like three of his personal phone numbers in case I needed anything. It is entirely your decision on what doctor you choose, but I wanted you to know my experience was nothing but wonderful with Dr. Huacuz. Good luck in your decision, I have read nothing but good things about Dr. Kuri also!! -
I have lost 33 lbs as of today. I have had 1 fill, that was on 12/27/05. I put it off way too long, I will not do that with my second fill. Glad to see everybody has had good results so far!!
-
Well, I had my first fill on 12/27/05. I was pretty scared. Kay the dietician is really nice! I was pleased to find out that I had not gained any of the weight back that I had initially lost, I was sure I had. Andy was the one who was going to do the fill, he is really nice too! So he found my port right away, no problem. He sticks the needle in to find the spot in the port and can't find it. He tries for what seems like forever, decides to just go get Dr. Schmit. Dr. Schmit tries and tries, can't find it, I am freaking out cuz they are talking about it possibly having flipped. Just my luck. So they decide they are going to do it by Flouroscopy, but Dr. Schmit tries one last time, BINGO! He finds it and puts in 1.3 cc's! All done! I don't know if I am feeling any difference yet as I have only eaten once since the fill. Both Andy and Dr. Schmit are super nice and thank goodness they are willing to do this for Mexican patients! Hope everyone has a safe New Year!!
-
my appts are 1:30 & 2:00, I will probably see you there! Cool!
-
Oh, I would love to get together but I won't be in Bismarck until the 27th! I am finally getting my first fill, I am so nervous!! So what is Dr. Schmit like? Is he nice? Does the fill hurt? I hate hate hate needles. I have to meet with the dietician first, then we are staying at the hotel with the waterslide for the kids, hopefully, I haven't made the reservation yet. Have fun at your get-together!! Wish me luck! Missy

Oh please, paid to battle for Dr. Huacuz?? With all due respect, we have every right, as do you, to praise our doctor. I have seen you praise yours from previous posts, so please do not insinuate that we are being paid for such comments. It is obvious you did not have a good experience with him and for that I'm sorry, but it has been well documented for others to consider, so can we put it to rest?
