Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
luvsrocks replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm sorry it took me so long to post. Surgery went well (10th), took four days to wake up, but started the soft Proteins on Sunday and began to feel human again. Lots of walking to relieve the gas. I worked Monday & today 4 or 5 hours - boy I could get used to those hours!) I just so appreciate all the information here, because I knew what was going on as I was experiencing things & that you all had gone through it...it really helps. I'm still trying to figure out when I'm full but if I'm satisfied I stop. Then I read some of the posts I had missed the past week and found out what that little tight burp is I feel. Aha! There was so much to catch up on! Everyones weight losses, welcome to all the newbies! Thank you all for your support & prayers. I'M A BANDER!!!!:clap2: Carol -
Banded and doing well. Sry I didn't post sooner!
luvsrocks replied to RedTulips3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations Redtulips! I made it too! I was banded at 8:00 A.M. on Thursday and this is my first post. I didn't start feeling human until Saturday night and today only used tylenol so that helped clear my head. I ended up staying longer than I planned at the hospital. My bladder decided not to function, a result of the anesthsia. It took a Foley cath to take care of the problem until I was able to go on my own. Other than that, I walked well right away, no problem, the gas was a little tough, but when you know it's coming you just deal with it. I'm glad it's all done, I'm thrilled to know I'm banded, was really happy to move to the soft Proteins today. But I was almost scared to eat. I didn't know a teaspoon of cottage cheese could taste so wonderful. Oh! And my 1st shower was heaven! Awe-the little things. Planning on going to work tomorrow, IF I can button my jeans, still bloated a bit. If I work I'll play it by ear, maybe work 1/2 day. Thanks to everyone for your support & sharing of your experiences! Best wishes to all of you scheduled this week for surgery. Carol -

Thanks Phyl. I did buy the Centrum chewable vitamin at Costco, but I hadn't thought to look for the chewable calcium. I think I'll pickup some of the liquid B too. I'm off all vitamins, aspirin, ibuprofen & :omg: my hormones until after surgery! Yeah.....if your watching CNN or FOX News & hear about an AZ woman losing it & going nutso.....it could be me! LOL Have a good evening.:notagree Carol -

PHYL - Your Seahawks did a number on the Redskins tonight! I was having my doubts for awhile but they sure came out shining! Pills....I hadn't thought about being limited on taking pills. I can't take to huge vitamins or calcium. I use the chewy calcium like Denise will have to see about pills after I get a feel for my band. Interesting. Carol -

Thanks Brenda! I think I have a good chance of coming home. I'm the first surgery, I don't have any serious health problems so I'm hopeful. Have a small bag packed just in case. You're doing great! 18 lbs in about 5 weeks, right? Great job. Will be thinking of you Tuesday when you get your fill. Let me know how that goes.....I'm a llittle leary about that part.....but for now will concentrate on the surgery. LOL One thing at a time, right? Carol:whoo: -

Texas! Congratulations on your surgery. Sounds like you're doing all the right things and taking care of you. Did you have to spend the night or go home same day? I'm supposed to be prepared to stay overnight but hoping to come home same day. (Thursday 1/10) Thanks for checking in and sharing. Take care. Carol:) -
Donna, you're doing great! 50 lbs! Thanks for sharing your experience with us newbies. I've read some of your other posts and you have such a great positive attitude & very supportive to others. Thank you! How has your 50 lbs changed your life so far? How many sizes is that? When I lose 50 lbs, I'll be my thinist in 14 or 15 years. I just want to feel better about myself and have some stamina/energy. Thanks again. Carol (band date 1/10/08)

Hang in Big-D! I can relate, I can give up alot but I am a big meat eater & have worried about it, but that's why I'm where I'm at.....I eat too much volume. Are you hungry because it's only two oz per doc's orders or is it that you know band is restricting you? I'm just curious. I agree with Donna, hang in there, remember that 14 lbs you've lost (IN 1 WEEK!) and you'll get your reward when you have to tighten your belt.:clap2: Now that sounds cool to me. Good luck Danny. Carol Only 5 more days & I'll be joining you guys.

Look at you Denise! 60 lbs! That's great. I know you hung in there a long time on a plateau (sp?) & I'm happy for you that your fill helped. You're so close to your goal. Congrats to you! Hi to everyone! I haven't posted here for a week or so....been on the January support. So much activity with everyone now getting there surgerys or getting close (like me) it's great to have all this support. Have a great weekend everyone!
