  1. I'm having a hard time finding past topics about skin tightening and research about up and coming procedures. There is a new laser skin tightening treatment for under the arms but I don't know anyone that can review that procedure. I wish there was an area in the forum for people who have lost the weight can talk about more "skin deep" issues. Does anyone have a skin treatment review out side of surgery?
  2. If I was vegan I would focus on Juicing to get high nutrient dense food in me. I think eggs are very important though. It is a complete protein.
  3. I've been doing research all day. It looks like the laser can help some if you are not too bad. The rest of it is genetics and diet. I'm going to focus on diet by increasing my collagen fibers and promoting my skin to bounce back. People think they are cute by finding all these sugar free Snacks but that just destroys your collagen by increasing insulin (that kills your elastin) Here are my results: 1. Stay off the sugar and sugar free junk food. YOUR SWEET TOOTH IS DESTROYING YOUR SKIN. It circulates through your blood stream ripping and tearing away at your cells and destroying collagen / elastin. INSULIN SPIKES created by "Sugar free" junk also destroys your skin. 2. Drink Bone broth http://www.prevention.com/beauty/beauty/does-bone-broth-help-your-skin 3. Drink White Tea: "research conducted by Kingston University and Neal’s Yard Remedies, white tea may protect the structural Proteins of the skin" 4. Get Omega-3: it surrounds the cell membrane and lubricates it. 5. juice Red Vegetables: makes natural sunscreen and increases collagen (alpert medical school) 6. Juice or eat Dark green vegetables: Rev up collagen production: Rich in Vitamin C, dark green vegetables like spinach and kale can rev up collagen production. In topical products, “Vitamin C has antioxidizing properties that stabilize the messenger enzymes that break collagen down. It also protects against free radicals to prevent weak collagen,” says Orlando, FL, dermatologist Dr. Dimitry Palceski. 7. Juice or eat Orange Vegetables: Restore and regenerate: Vegetables that are orange in color, like carrots and sweet potatoes, are rich in Vitamin A, which restores and regenerates damaged collagen. 8. Citrus Fruits and Berries: Get rid of free radicals that damage skin. They are rich in vitamin C have the ability to help amino acids—lysine and proline—convert to collagen. 9. Eggs: The most complete Protein builds muscle and skin. 10. Garlic: (I roast it) The high sulfur is necessary for collagen production. 11. Raw Oysters: Rich in Zinc—an essential element of the collagen-building process.
  4. Just because your "a big girl" doesn't make your guts and incisions big and strong. They are the same or even less strong than anyone else. This isn't about having grit, it's about ripping your guts open and spending 6 months in an LTAC after 100,000 dollars work of surgery. Chew his butt out!
  5. I was sleeved 12/30 and I just had 4 oz of delicious blended pea soup. I worked out 1 hour yesterday and I'm in good spirits and energetic. I do not do those sweet shakes. I drink goats milk, buttermilk and kefir. That protein is more digestible and absorbs at a higher rate. I'm into building strength and energy! I'm loosing 1-2 pounds a day.
  6. OCD much? LOL. Looks like you are so excited you are setting up an itinerary like a project manager. I think it is great you are excited but you will be taking orders from your body. Not the other way around. Follow all the instructions and you will do great. You may even be thrown a curve ball of depression which might be made worse if you can't make your goals. Stay excited and just keep up the research.
  7. The sweet shakes have made me sick and I can't even sip on them anymore. I've been craving meat protein like crazy. My sleeve still feels swollen and a Popsicle definitely fixes that but the only thing that has tamed that craving for salt and meat is 2oz of very cold butter milk with just a pinch of salt. I only bought a small 2 cup container and after 4oz all my meat and salty cravings are gone. I feel the protein in the buttermilk is actually absorbing because my energy level is off the chart now. I have read that animal protein is absorbed by the body 3X more than vegan. My body just does not work off of fruit and shakes. I'm a meat eater. Buttermilk ice cold also feels good to my sleeve too.
  8. I'm a dairy person. I love all kinds of cheeses and creams. Buttermilk is cold and feels good going down (in small portions) I've just found another meaty beverage that feels good to drink. Carrot Juice! I just finished 4 ounces and my stomach feels great. No sugary junk bringing me down. I went upstairs and noticed my 91 year old mother in law (with perfect vision) drinking her daily glass and I decided to try it. It felt really good on the stomach and gave me the feeling of real food.
  9. Don't laugh but Buttermilk has saved me! I put 2oz of buttermilk in my special measuring glass and it makes me feel satisfied like I ate meat. But I also love buttermilk too. The Protein in Buttermilk is more digestible for me. OH, and also, cold popsicles are taking the swelling from my stomach too.
  10. Hello all, I'm looking forward to learning tips and tricks to surviving this liquid diet. I started a week early just in case I might run into problems. I don't go into surgery until December 30th but I want to play it safe and shrink my liver. This liquid diet is leaving me pretty irritated and hungry. This is my second day and I'm going stir crazy. I figured if I can do this until my surgery I can make it the rest of the way. Anyone else feel like starting the liver shrinking diet is the hardest?

  13. Isopure Whey Protein Isolate is the protein I am using for hot broths. Just incase anyone was wondering.
  14. I've gotten quite creative with my liquid diet and seem to still have lots of success at keeping carbs in single digits. It seems like many people love these milk shake tasting Protein drinks but i can only stomach one or two a day. My instructions say I should be drinking 3 or 4. I am not a big sweets eater. I'm more of a savory person. I enjoy fatty meats and gravies with rich tasting vegetables. This is why I have created my own high protein broths and named them after foods I enjoy. --> juice parsley, cilantro, kale or any other green leaf separately. Pour each juice into an ice tray. Once you have bags of labeled Leaf juice drop a cube in your broth after it comes to a boil. This will cool it fast and make it the temp you want. Use the seasonings you like to create different flavored broths. If you add plain powdered protein this can take the place of a sweet shake. Make sure you get a protein that can be put in hot Water. My favorite spices: Powdered Ginger Powdered Smoked Paprika Powdered Onion Powdered Garlic Curry powder Powdered Cumin Powdered Cardamom
  15. It sounds like to me you need better pain management so you can deep breathe and start moving. It is very dangerous to be in that much pain at your weight. It will discourage you from moving and taking deep breaths. That could lead to a blood clot. Either take your pain pills or call your doctor about better pain management. You need to be up and moving immediately. Good Luck!
  16. Yes, the sweet shakes are killing me. I'm actually eating less because the sweetness is a deterrent. Does anyone know if there are 1-3g carb shakes that are savory instead of sweet?
