mouth rawness from anesthesia breathing tube
kellym replied to kellym's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went in to see the nurse on wed. the day after my surgery. All they did was give me some spray pain medicine and told me to continue antibiotics. I am going to see my Ear nose and throat hopefully Monday if they can squeeze me in. I can barely eat due to the raweness. Thank you for listening. Kelly -
Surgeries The Week Of December 17
kellym replied to nhlapband's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
:faint:Everything is as I expected. However the anesthisia part did a number on my mouth and uvula that hangs at the back of the mouth. I have been in great pain swallowing and if I eat anything warm or just luke warm it burns like fire on all the raw skin o the roof of my mouth. Secondly the uvula that has down back there was knicked as well during surgery. It is elongated and attaches to my tongue when trying to talk, brush teeth etc. I feel like gagging all the time. Thanks for listening I know that my husband is getting sick of hearing about it. If anyone else has experienced this please let me know that it gets better and about how long to heal I am getting a little concerned. Kelly:help: :faint: -
mouth rawness from anesthesia breathing tube

I am 3 days post op surgery. Everything is going as I had figured. However, the breathing tube for the anesthesia tore the roof of my mouth up and my uvula is extremely swollen. It is so painful to swallow anything and when talking the uvula gets stuck on my tongue and makes me want to gag. I need to vent and see if anyone else has had this problem. If so how long does it take to heal. I am very frustrated and feel like crying. Kelly:help: :faint: -

I am the mother of 1 boy 3 1/2 years old. I have been married to my husband for 5 1/2 years. I am a kindergarten teacher in Arlington, Texas. I have been overweight off and on for about 10 years. I am very excited about this new journey that I am going on December 18. I can't wait to get to know all of you. This is exciting to be able to share this with others that will be going through the same thing. I think it is very important to have support from others that have had the surgery.
