4 weeks out, question about amount of food

I too am 4 weeks out. Banded on Nov. 28th. I can eat more than I thought I would. But still not as much as I did before the band. I had my 1st fill Dec. 20th. And that doesn't seem to stop me from eating the same amount without the extra fluid in the band. I also have the small band. Before the fill I had 2.6cc in my band, they added 1.4cc to give me an even 4 cc. At this rate I think I'm gonna need the full 10cc before I feel restriction. I keep reading in here and I know it's going to take a few more fills before I start to feel the restriction. But I do know your frustration.

    DFW Area Bandsters

Hello, DFW area bandster here. Live in Lewisville. Banded 11/28/07 at Wise regional by Dr. Frank Felts. Scheduled for 1st fill 12/20/07. Good to see everyone.
  3. PCGUMSHOE is correct. The metal detectors at the airports are usually not set high enough to detect the port. If by chance it should, explain to the TSA person what you had done. Yes, they will put you in secondary screening, (using the wand). And yes you can request to be taken in private, versus being screened in public. Just plan for the extra time and don't get huffy with them. Remember they are there for your protection (I don't think any of us want another 9/11), and causing a scene can cause you to be delayed longer. PC is correct that TSA does not have arrest authority, but they do have the authority to detain you till someone like me (airport police) show up and find out the problem. This delay could take long enough to cause you to miss your flight.

    How are Nov 28th bansters?

Hello all, Nov. 28th bander myself. I also am on clear liquids for the 1st 2 weeks. Can't wait till Wed. When I can progress to mushies. I've already bought my mushie food waiting for me. Went to my 1st support group meeting a few days ago. Alot of people there said they didn't wait the 2 weeks before moving on. I am going to, if something happens I'll blame myself if I didn't follow what the Dr. suggested.

    Banded 11/28/97

Oops, typo sorry about that. the 0 and 9 are so close.
  7. I was banded yesterday. Had some pain, tried to stay away from the pain meds, but gave in at bed time. Today, my tummy is sore. Feels like I went 3 rounds with Mike Tyson. Pain seems to be subsiding a bit. Trying to walk and be good about everything.
  8. I am scheduled to be banded Nov. 28th. Recently found the website. I have read most of the threads in here and there is alot of very good information. Although I have yet to find anyone discussing any problems with flying. I travel all the time in my job and was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the air pressure in planes?
