It's good to see everyone doing so great as usual. However,it turns out that a celebrity around my parts is doing the surgery and he is making a documentary on it in order to bring about its awareness to other obese persons and to advertise the medical center. I had heard about it initially and wanted to be a part of it. However, no official word was given to them by me and they went ahead and rescheduled my surgery without even contacting me. I was so upset that I told them that I didn't want to be a part of it. It will now be held tomorrow (Monday, 7th 08). I was told to come in for 9 am. My excitment has sinced gone and i just want to get this out of the way. Pray for me all...

Hey everyone, I know I've been MIA for a while, this is all due to exams and holiday preparations and all (christmas is a big deal here). All my tests came back good and my new surgery date is 3rd January '08 - next Thursday first thing in the morning. I'd be glad to hear any advice from you guys about what you would have done differently 5 days before surgery now that you have 20/20 hindsight vision. I have read your post and I'm glad to know that everyone is okay physically whether you have lost weight or not. My friend who did the surgery the same day as me has lost 20lbs so far! Everyone thanks for your prayers and keep up the great efforts. Bandpal I loved your version of the night before christmas, it is really relevant to us, not to mention funny. Marissa I also have a sparkpage, my user name is ovahkummer, what's yours? Look me up and leave a message. Everyone again, thanks for the encouragment and remember me in prayer come Thrusday (3rd January,08) morning.

Glad to hear you are doing well Canadian comfortand don't worry about the hardness under your incision, your tissues are just filling back the gap and after it will return to normal again. (I'm not a dr. I am just experienced, after witnessing the same thing from my own recent incisions and from two prior scars from c-sections that are aprox.10 inches long! - so trust me. It's a good sign. I went back to my dr yesterday and he has ordered a wide range of tests, he has also started me on asprin and betablockers??. He says I'll come off the asprin about a week before the surgery because it will thin my blood. I should go back to him in the next 2 weeks for him to do an ultrasound of my heart, the other tests results should be in by then and if all is well I'll go back into surgery the week after christmas. Those of you who believe in prayer, please remember me. All the best to everyone and keep up the good work.

Hey there guys, Remember me? The one who did the surgery but didn't do it. Well I'm experiencing the same symptoms as you guys especially the part where if you move wrong you feel like you're being stabbed. I've done 2 c-sections before this and it is quite normal, it just a sign of healing. The lightheadedness is from the lack of calories or fluids. I don't experience that because I'm eating normal, I still do pass a lot of gas(which I wish my car could use:biggrin1:). Try getting in more Water and that should help with the dizziness. I also had the IV in my neck and the pain from it is virtually gone. Bandpal congrats on the loss so far and keep on writing. I enjoy reading your detailed posts and everyonelse's for that matter. It is aiding in my preparation for next time. Thanks all for sharing your personal stories. One day we will all 'overcome'.

Boy after reading all the wonderful posts, I'm afraid to post. I feel like the black sheep. I am doing fine physically and have all the same incision pains like all of you. However, my surgery was not completed because about 3/4 of the way thru, my blood oxygen concentration plummitted and they decided to pull the plug on the surgery. They have decided to run all the necessary tests to figure out why this happened and then go back at it late december or early January. Yes I WAS disappointed when I woke up and my husband told me, but when I saw the grateful look on his face that quickly dissipated. My hopes would have been dashed, had they said that they wouldn't try again. However, they say that the cheif culprit they suspect is a blood clot breaking away from the legs and measures can be put in place to prevent this next time,so I'm not worried about going back. I cannot continue to live at 350 and counting, I know they will do everything possible the next time around for a successful surgery. I hope everyone continues to do fine and I will keep you guys posted even though I am not a November 20th anymore. ):

Thanks sades and jamie,it was disappointing at first, but when I realise what the alternative could have been, that quickly dissipated. I'm just glad that they didn't say that they're not gonna try again. That would have dashed my hopes.
-
November 20th and a nervous wreck!

Did my surgery on 20th. However it was not completed due to complications during the surgery. My blood oxygen concentration plummeted about 3/4 of the way thru, they were not sure why,so they pulled the plug. For the next couple of weeks they will investigate why this happened and re-do it around late next month or early January. The chief culprit they say could be a blood clot breaking away from the legs. I'm not scared to go back. I will definetly go back because to me it's either live a long healthy life or die a quick peaceful death. I can't continue to live at 350 and counting. I know they will figure out why this happened and I'm positive that more pre-cautions will be taken next time around. Another patient had it done the same day and she is doing fine, but still in hospital, however I'm home,up and about and she is still under the doctor's watch until today. I spoke to her this morning and she is fine. I hope everyone else had a good surgery. -
Hey I'm being banded on 20th too. I've had two c sections also,so I'm not worried about surgery. I do have exams in the next 2 weeks so I hope all the adjustments are made by my body by then. I have the optionof taking off next week or two. I will see how I feel. I am in college so its not much physical work for me. Looking forward to interacting and sharing this brand new experience with you guys.

Hey all, I'll be banded on 20th too. I am on no pre-op diet but i've been down the low-cal highway before, so I'm not worried about cutting down my intake. I'm just abit worried about how long my body will take to adjust to the new low, low,low cal lifestyle because I have exams in the next two weeks. I'm looking forward to interacting with you guys.
