Compression shirts and wraps? loose skin
gamecockfan864 replied to gamecockfan864's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yeah i understand it can't be prevented, I have also heard its genetics. I am just wondering if there is any products people have tried that helped make it more manageable or worked for them. I'm 25 so i know that helps me out somewhat. Ive just heard of a lot of people using these. -
Compression shirts and wraps? loose skin
gamecockfan864 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey everyone, Was wondering about compression shirts and wraps to help prevent loose skin? Ive heard chatter about these products. Anyone tried these? Any success, suggestions? I'm only two weeks out but i want to know any information on preventive measures for loose skin. I'm sure I'm going to have some on my stomach(where i hold the most weight by far) -
How many times a week or month do you weigh yourself?
gamecockfan864 replied to gamecockfan864's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for all your responses…didn't know if i was going overboard.Ive learned I'm going to want to weight everyday so I've just been doing it in the morning right before i take a shower, otherwise i would be wondering all day. I just went to my post op appt. I weighed before i left with nothing on and i was at 236 and when i went to hospital didn't take anything off or out of pockets because thats how i weighed Ive always weighed at the doctors office 242. I didn't freak out becasue i weighed with everything on, on my scale and about the same thing. Either way I'm down 18 pound fully clothed or 23 in 13 days! Plus I got those annoying staples out. I can't wait until i can go to the gym but I have 3 weeks before i can do that. So I'm still walking... -

I gotta scale before surgery…I'm 9 days out of surgery and I'm having a hard time not weighing myself everyday. I've been trying to stop because a lot of the times it has bummed me out because my weight has been fluctuating. So I was wondering should it be a once a week thing? or stop worrying about the scales for awhile? Ive been walking a at least a mile a day and following my diet plan. -
I have 2 weeks of of full liquids yogurt, oatmeal, cottage cheese, and cream of wheat, thin sliced potatoes were added to the diet. I'm on day 2 and oatmeal is getting old fast. Anyone have any recipes or ways they spruced up the diet without it being so plain?

Had Surgery Jan 6th….Everything is going smoothly the large incision still tender getting up and down and stretching does feel to good. Gas has been going away that was the worst pain for me personally. How are everyones post op meal plans i know each dr or hospital has different…I'm on clear liquids for this first week…now I'm about to move to full liquids for week 2 and 3 (means i get yogurt, cream soup, thin sliced mashed potatoes, oatmeal)….cant wait until my 4th week for some actual food

ANY South Carolina Sleevers?

I lived in charleston for five years up until this last fall, to prepare to have this surgery and get some money to come back to cofc this fall. When did you get sleeved? -
yeah i am going to wait until i can hit the gym before i even start thinking about dating. I was just using that as an example of how it might be embarrassing at times and I was curious how people have handled it

Im 25 male Greenwood SC only 6 days out of surgery. Was hoping there are some other SC sleevers out there to talk too

I have only told a couple of my close friends so far. Anyone feel kinda like a "cheater" or somewhat feeling less manly when you have to explain to someone new or a girl or even or friends? I I feel like dinner dates would be awkward as i know ill have to take 30 mins just to eat a a lot less than her. I'm only 6 days out of surgery so I haven't had much of a social life just wondering what its like to tell strangers? because i fell like its already going to be hard telling friends.

Any Early Jan Sleevers?
gamecockfan864 replied to gamecockfan864's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
yeah a few tips walk as much as possible and get GasX, other than that its not too bad and personally i haven't had any problems. the 6th too? nice, I'm still sore from the bigger incision. I've lost 17 lbs since surgery so I'm really excited about that. I'm looking forward to being able to go to the gym and try to help speed up the weight loss -
I had mine two days ago on the 6th. Everything has gone pretty smoothly besides the pain, not from the incisions, but from the gas built up in my stomach. wow was not expecting so much pain from that, reached all the way to my chest and even my shoulders got really sore. That and the "power is off" type behavior where instead of trying to turn on a lamp and then realizing the powers out i think of something really good to eat and quickly remember I can't have it which bums me out from time to time. Wondering how other peoples surgeries have been going?
