  1. There is another factor, if you look a people who were prisoners of war or in other horrible situations, the body shuts down a bit and conserves what it has. In you case, your body may be in a crisis mode and holding on to what it has.
  2. That was one reason I chose only to tell a select few people. Some friends family members have not seen me since surgery and I will have to decide what to tell them when I see. I may just say I am on a medically supervised diet, which is true. I know who supports me and who doesn't :cry and I choose to be involved with those who will support me.
  3. I had my first fill this morning. I was a little nervous about what it was going to feel like, but it was just fine. Clear liquids for two days, full liquids for two days, then real food. I can do this.
  4. I am getting my first fill on Monday. But I am having a weird problem. I can cook dinner and after two bites of my hot protein such as chicken or veal I will get nauseous. The next day I can take the same protein, eat it cold, and have no problem. What is going on?

    weird problem

Thank you for your reply. This is not a protein shake. This is chicken or veal or fish. Real food. I can make my nice hot dinner and not be able to eat it; but if I eat it cold for lunch the next day as leftovers, I am fine.

    weird problem

I appreciate the response. The answers to the questions are: Surgery was November 19. I am not nor can I become pregnant; I can not take asprin, Aleve or ibuprofen. I still have my gall bladder. The nausea is mild and lasts about 10 - 15 minutes; I have not thrown up and I do stop eating at that point. I take Prevacid so I do not know if I can take Zantac on top of that. Any more insight is appreciated.
  7. I am getting to the stage where I can eat real food. I am being careful, eatting small amounts, eatting slowly, and chewing the food to mush. I am still not hungry. However, when I eat, I am not feeling full. I go from eatting nicely to I feel like I have to throw up. Is there a way to know when to stop to avoid the feeling?
  8. The problem right now is that I am not hungry and I have no feeling of being full. Will that happen once the band is filled? Have I not gotten to the stage where I will "know"?
  9. I had colon cancer in 2007. My doctor said he would deflate the band before the colonoskopy then refil it afterwards.
  10. I just found this forum and I am happy to join. I go in tomorrow for my surgery. I am ready. I would like some suggestions on the clear liquids and how to drink all the water. I am getting better but not able to drink all I am suppose to.
