    Gastritis

I had it for a few months after sugery, mine presentred as constant nausea 24/7. , I took the acis meds I still take , but carafate 3_4 times a day was my life saver. Surheon said it can be part of heading process for some, after 3 months af carafate I was better.

    6wks post and gaining. Gree

Don't fret, you will develope your own weight loss pattern, I didn't lose anything for weeks, then drop 5-10 pound s in a week. It's wierd and when I'm not losing I fluctuate up and down, 2-4 pounds. Keep at it, you'll see!

    WHY STILL NAUSEOUS

I've been nauseous since week 3, it's being treated successfully with carafate. It was explained that there is a small percentage of patients who have nausea on up to 6 months, I guys I fall in that category. Dr says its kinda like gastritis, thus the carafate, coats my stomach. Tried to go off it last week and was miserable, so back on.
  4. 1. Feeling nauseous still at 3 month PO. 2. Losing the enjoyment of eating sweets. 3. Everything tasting "not right".
  5. If its any help, I'm 3 months PO and I haven't had any of same issues except nausea, and eating is not a good experience for me either. It's uncomfortable and everything tastes nasty. They have been treating my nausea with carafate and reglan. The thinking is that I prob have some gastritis and that can cause ongoing nausea. Seems to have helped nausea, but eating is still a chore, and no weightless in over 3 weeks. Wonder if they would let you try some carafate, it coats stomach lining. Sorry for all your setbacks, keep pushing on!
  6. At least all of of weight loss post op seems aboutthe same.
  7. Surgery 12/22. I am being treated for the nausea with carafate and reglan which has helped, but I'm still puny. Dr says not an uncommon complaint for sleeve patients, usually clears up @ 6 months, just really grossed out by all foods. I even have tried some old favorite junk food, still gross. On a brighter note , I've gotten my bowels regulated,! But have horrible menstrual cycles now! I keep looking for the silver lining, I'm sure it will appear eventually.
  8. I've lost 30 pounds, but have lost nothing in past 3 weeks. Still have trouble meeting protein/liquid levels,. I have had some pretty miserable nausea to deal with, everything I try to eat tastes gross to me. Trying to just push on, hoping for better days and more weightless. Would be very upset to go through this and only lose 30 pounds..lol. How is everyone else doing?
  9. Im 3 months p/o and have nausea most of the time, so eating is gross for me too, I never throw up though, just ALL day nausea. I think 5 weeks sounds early for such bulky meat, but we were on a pretty conservative diet advancement, still on purreed at 5 weeks, maybe try to back up to softer foods for awhile will help. Yes, I do get grossed out when I see people eat, and I KNOW I ate the same way. I wonder if this is how fit , no WLS people see things?
  10. no, no pains. I'm taking that gall bladder med to help prevent that, i'm sure it's not 100% but I don't thinkg thats it. I am going to call tomorrow and see what they say. Probably more of the same. It makes it almost impossible to get in foods and liquid. I never throw up, sometimes i wish I would hoping it would help it pass.
  11. We all have to go through nurse, she talked to him about it a few weeks ago and he started me on the carafate and reglan, he was thinking I may have some gastritis issues. It did help at first, but not so much now. I wake up nauseous and feel that way all day. The thought of putting anything in my mouth to eat or drink makes my stomach roll. It's really making me regret my surgery. I went from a fat person who felt pretty good to a fairly smaller fat person who is sick all the time. Dr/Nurse say that some people have continuing nausea through the early months after surgery and they basically have to just "push through it" lol.. say it usually passes around the 6 month mark! so 4 more months of this ;(
  12. I'm two months po, have had nausea for the last 3_4 weeks. Taking PPI, ACTIGOL, reglan and cerafate. Last two meds started for nausea 3 weeks ago. I never throw up and it doesnt relate ti any th hing I eat, matter of fact I barely eat or drink bc im soooo nauseous. Reglan and carafatw seemed to help at.first, but now not so much. Ive stopped losing wieght, I'm sure due to lack of calories/fluids. I have talked to nurse about it, they say "sometimes this us how it is for some people for a few months." That's not too reassuring. Anyone else deal with this?
  13. I'm still on pureed, so tuna, chicken salad, s soups so forth. Dint feel Mike I could stand much more at this point.
  14. Im a month out and had a hernia repair. I didn't have any problems with the repair, but still struggle with getting all fluids and protien in. I have started using http://www.musclegen.net, it has been great. It will mix with gatorade and clear fluids, just makes the cloudy, no real taste or texture. Some people are naysayers about this product but I have seen several others using it and I showed it to my NUT and she was fine with it. Smaller scoop too, with 30 grams protien. I ordered off amazon. Hang in there, it will get better, I'm onto purees and struggle to get those down as I don't feel hungry or can't get much down. My doctor told me that at weeks 3 and 4 they have found there is an increase in inflammation due to healing, and I had some pain during those weeks, but it has passed. Just don't overtax your new stomach and try to let it heal. Good Luck.
  15. Im doing good, except I think I may be dehydrated . Horrible constipation too
