I have decided to have WLS because I have been overweight almost my entire life. Obesity runs in my family and I have battled it my whole life and I am to the point where I am losing the battle. I am now severely obese BMI 36. Everyone keeps telling me I am too small to get this surgery. But I am too big not too get it. Every time I make an attempt to lose weight for the past several years it just comes back and brings more. 
 
I am ready to make food not the center of my existence. I hate being the biggest one in my family-I hate taking pictures- I could go on and on.
 
I realize the results of this surgery is difficult at first, but it gets easier as your body and mind heal. i am ready for a change and up to the challenge. 
 
I have had my consult, phsyco, exercise and nutrition consult. I am waiting for GI study and sleep study, then I will be ready to go. I am paying for this surgery completely out of my own pocket because my insurance does not cover the surgery under any circumstances.
 
I am hoping and praying I can get some help from insurance for GI study because I have stomach acid problems.
