Hi all my name is Tam, I'm 34 and my gastric bypass surgery is booked for the 23 Jan.... I'm excited but very nervous and scared about the what ifs etc.... I know I need this to be 100% happy with myself but I don't have very much support just a family member.... I kinda stressed myself out reading all the side effects of the surgery and almost want to cancel it...... I'd be so greatful to have a buddy or mentor or both... I'm from Australia but anywhere in the world would be fine... Just be good to have someone ease my mind Thanks in advance ☺

I know I shouldnt be so vain but my hair I don't want to lose.... I think the fact ice heard all these stories makes me want to try my hardest to lose the 40 kilos I need to by maybe taking away some of the tips and tricks used after you have a bypass ie eating slow, drinking lots of water etc..... I'm scared as hell about losing my hair, teeth, constant vitamin checks... I know I sound ungrateful or whatever but I think I would never forgive myself if I didn't Seriouzly try and continue on my shakes etc and careful eating..... Excess skin doesn't bother me... But I'm scared of having this op done now

I'm on 2 shakes a day now so when I start pre op I should be ok but yes that would be a concern for me too if I had diabetes

Yes please do let me know.... What vitamins etc do you need to take????!!!

@@walkin'onsunshine How long ago was your surgery???? Did you have the bypass or sleeve and do you have the symptoms I mentioned????

Yes I've had my gall bladder take out.... And back surgery I guess it's just the hair that worries me.... I have really short hair and I just don't want clumps coming out...... That's all :/

Yeah teeth falling out I've got my dietician appt tomorrow and then I have an appt to see surgeon 5 Jan so we shall see how I go..... I'm. Starting to get really scared....i don't know what to do now

Wow okay so it can happen??!!! I feel. I'm a little too young to worry about my teeth falling out..... Gosh

@@mwilson1981 My stress is now from. Reading stories re peoples hair falling out and peoples teeth falling out.... I'm. Starting to wonder if I should not follow through

I'm really scared and considering cancelling my surgery. I just read a woman say she's had her teeth fall out years after the surgery.... I dont want that or my hair to fall out :/

Okay... So how do you combat it??? I can't take senna it makes me feel. Horrible

Hi all.... I'm new here.... Hope you'all are well.... I've been scheduled for roux en y gastric bypass surgery Jan 23.... I was so excited, now I'm scared stiff..... Stories of hairloss, Vitamin and mineral deficiency just to name a few..... People I know have had wls and have had great success but then I've heard it's the gastric sleeve they have had... the dieting and the pre op 3 weeks on shakes doesn't worry me as much but losing hair and stories of people being constantly nauseous and not able to eat are putting me off I know I need this but wow I'm really now pooping myself.... Can anyone provide me some assurance or has anyone had the gastric bypass and had these symptoms or not had them??? Thanks T xxx

Yes initially I felt light headed.... I've been on 2 shakes (breakfast and lunch) then dinner meat or chicken and veggies and now. I'm ok.... They made me feel. Nauseous to start with but now I feel. Ok.... So jan 2 I start pre op for 3 weeks of. Just shakes hoping I. Won't find. It toooo hard......

@@Wendyfm I hope not.... I regularly have it cut so I hope I don't...... Is this more of a symptom of the bypass as opposed to the sleeve or does it happen with both???

Eek something I'm not looking forward to..... I have short cropped hair anyways.... Do. You think. I'll. Lose what I have and go bald???

Ohhh ok then.... I just wasn't sure if the bypass had more advantages.....

Ahhhh okay well I have a juicer... I would be able to juice up veggies and fruit whilst I'm on fluids yeah???? Or not???? How much water is needed straight after surgery like when I get home???? The thought of having a sleeve and my whole remaining stomach removed scares me more than. The bypass but yeah I worried about constipation and being deficiemt in vitamins etc.... Sorry to ask so much I just get so many diff people with diff answers and start to stress...

@@ThreeCrows Ahhhhh ok.... I sent you a message I'm not sure if u got it..... I'm reading and re reading everything too... My hardest decision is figuring out of the bypass is the best out of the two :s
