Gas Pain Under Left Shoulder. ... help
Dsteele89 replied to sweetgagrl00's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in the same boat. Left shoulder, neck and side are killing me. Like a sharp pain when you move a certain way. I have a heating pad which seems to help and moving around every little while. I'm 1 day post op. -
Hey everyone, I'm 5 days into my pre op and am finding it hard to come up with ideas. I'm restricted to 3 shakes a day plus 250 calories of low glycemic vegetables. I find myself making a lot of salads. I made cauliflower rice yesterday and that helped but I need some new ideas. Any one have any suggestions ? Thanks !

Mint extract to the chocolate shake. Then freeze it and let it thaw in the fridge. -

I'm on day three and already trying to find recipe ideas for the 250 calories of low GI veggies a day. Anyone have any favourite recipes they would like to share? -
How much time off for the surgery ?
Dsteele89 replied to Dsteele89's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Bkckick88. Yes I agree. I don't want to hear negative opinions so best to just avoid it all together. Congrats on post op ! How are you finding recovery ? -
How much time off for the surgery ?
Dsteele89 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, I begin my pre-op diet on Monday for my surgery on January 19th. I'm getting nervous, mainly because I don't know how to ask for the time off from work. My work is very accommodating but I am keeping this a secret from them. Can anyone give me advice on how they dealt with this / reasons they asked for time off? Thanks ! -
Hello everyone ! I am due to be banded in Jan 2015. I am from Calgary and was wondering if there had been a Calgary "group" started? Cheers!

Thanks everyone for your input ! -
I'm in the exact same boat. Self paid , but healthcare would cover Partial amounts on a three year wait list with various requirements. I wanted it now while I feel motivated and excited. It will be worth it. I considered the money that would be saved on groceries / eating out/ etc. Way to go

Just think this is a huge step towards the new and healthy you. I haven't had my op yet so I can't tell you how I've dealt with the nerves but look at the nerves as bubbles of excitement ! Way to go!

How much time off from work?

It seems the general consensus is at least a week? I'm due to be banded in January and trying to decide how long to take off. I do have a really relaxed office job , not a lot of moving or lifting. Is the week just to be safe or did people feel like they needed the full week?
