Blender or nutribullet?
mrs kaje replied to provenzee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a $15 drink blender from K-Mart and is been brilliant but I've been making slushies with it lately and I think it's about to die. I'm going to get myself a Nutri Ninja Slim for Christmas! -
I'm pre-op, but lost around 50lb earlier this year. Whilst I didn't really notice it go away, I definitely noticed it get bad again when I put a stack of weight back on over the last couple of months. Looking forward to it improving again post-op!

To tell or not to tell...
mrs kaje replied to DaisyAmy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Uh, that's kind of the gist of my comment. The comment I quoted said that there is shame in 'lying' about WLS. Ignoring the fact that choosing not to tell someone something does not equate to lying in the first place, that's just a load of hot shit. -

Will I really loose the weight?
mrs kaje replied to grace-not-perfection's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just can't imagine being a normal weight (having never really been there), so I do have a hard time believing that it might/can happen. I look at before and after photos and I can relate to the befores, but just can't believe I'll ever look like the afters. -
Plastic Surgery after WLS in Australia
mrs kaje replied to ausmith's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My words were much more colourful and the look on my husbands face was priceless My actual reaction would just have been censored on this site, so I didn't even bother to type it out -

Question regarding weight loss before surgery.
mrs kaje replied to jennjarrid's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked my surgeon about this and he said I already had a recorded BMI of 40+ so he would still do it unless I came back with a BMI of 25 or something haha. I am being careful about how much I lose, though, just in case I do get too close to 30 and he changes his mind. -
I love winter and usually happily get around in short sleeve shirts on 8°C/46°F winter mornings, but today it was 16°C/61°F and I was absolutely freezing. I guess this is better than sweating like a pig in summer, though...

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
mrs kaje replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My 'straw' wasn't a bad thing that happened to me or something I was sick of etc, my decision to have surgery came from the yummiest place ever... CAKE. I had thought about WLS since 2009 but had been put off by some bad family responses, and also that I was under the impression that you had to have six weeks off work afterwards (I must have seen or heard that somewhere...), which wouldn't have suited me at all. Anyway, I was watching Cake Boss in September 2014 and one of the people on the show had a lap-band (I think) and they showed her visiting the bakery ten days after the operation. It was then that I realised that I wouldn't be out of action for an extended period, and it wasn't until I learned this that I considered WLS a viable option - it was like it was finally a possibility for me. So yeah, if I wasn't a card-carrying cake-addict I wouldn't have been watching that show, and I would still be thinking that WLS wasn't a possibility for me. So yeah, cake totally saved my life -
Final number for me is 255.07lb Thanks, stephh :-) Please sign me up for the next one.

I think fat or skinny people who carry on about how great they think they are, and how much they love themselves, are super annoying. For me, it's got nothing to do with size, it's those kinds of personalities that I hate.
