Just dropping in to say hello to my fellow sleevers!! it's been two months since my surgery! My body is still adjusting and my mind is trying to catch up! Lol... I still struggle with foods that I once ate, but not too much of a problem, it's like I'll think about it thenas fast as it came, it went just as fast.

Im VERY discourged right now! Iwas told by my Dr that i need to be down 12-20 pounds before my surgery and Im only down 10. His asst has told me that he is known for postponing surgeries if the required weight isnt off. Not to mention my surgery date is Wed. 31st and i ran outta protien shake and went and bought isopure and it is GROSSSSSSS. Cant even stomach the smell. I dont know what to do. Maybe stressing will cause the weight to fall off !! Any suggestions?? Oh, also bought a whey protien and its way too sweet! Feel like im wasting money, and the shake from my dr is 65.00

you have 3 days my Dr. had me on high protein slim fast all liquid. I didn't have a set weight loss amount my suggestion is to do all liquid and only water and excersice every day, when you go to weigh if you do so in the am hold off on eating and drinking until after the weigh in it's just 2lbs it could come off as water weight over night.

So he postpones the surgery? Is that the end of the world? It gives you more time to prepare. Do the best you can. Also instead of buying full sizes. Buy single serving packs. You can order some online, buy them at drug stores like CVS, stores like GNC & Vitamin Shoppe and even Whole Foods. Lastly I agree with the suggestion to do 2 shakes and 1 sensible meal. If you can do a good olive oil and balsamic vinegar instead of a dressing even better. Then make sure you take a walk for at least 30 minutes each day. Lastly drink water until you feel you are about to float away. This pre-op phase is just the start so you may as well start disciplining yourself now

I agree with BLERDgirl: please don't be discouraged. My surgery was postponed a week due my surgeon having to deal with an emergency and it felt like the end of the world. However that extra week gave me time to get rid of a very heavy cold which might have prevented me from having having surgery at all!
If your surgery is postponed just see it as being given extra time to prepare. It WILL HAPPEN!!
We have to drink the shakes- there is no getting away from it but it is only temporary. Try to go with the process and tell yourself that each shake you take is your passport to lifelong health.
Best of luck with your surgery and beyond xx

Merry Christmas!!! I am cooking gumbo for my family, and not craving any. Im very motivated by my surgery on the 31st!!! My Dr. says that i can eat grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and a veggie, so I'm ok w that!! Very excited about my upcoming date! I wish everyone well this Christmas as well as everyone that will be soon sleeved!!!
