    Front Butt

Front butt! lol Cracks me up. I knew exactly what you were talking about when I saw it. I'm only at the beginning of the process (surgery was 12/29) and I'm already doing research on the mommy makeover surgery. I mean, I hoping I can reduce my front butt with healthy eating and exercise alone but I'm being realistic too. I've had it for so long! I know it's going to put up a fight when I want it to leave lol.

    Popcorn my most favorite snack!

That's the only way I make it. I LOVE popcorn too. I hope it's not banned for life after surgery. =(
  3. I was just sleeved at Mi Doctor Hospital on 12/29 by Dr. Elias Ortiz. My experience was really great. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The hospital is small; quaint but I liked that about it. I didn't have any problems being assisted when I needed it. They, of course, spoke mostly Spanish but we were able to communicate just fine. I only had to rely on my high school knowledge of Spanish a couple times to get my point across lol. I made the journey by myself so I really appreciated the fact that everyone was warm and nice. Good luck to you on your journey!
  4. Ok so as I've stated in another post, I'm hungry! And I'm tired of the sweet artificial taste of Gatorade, Crystal light and the likes. And chicken broth. I've also been drinking Isopure for the Protein but it leaves a nasty after taste and it also is sweet....just like the Gatorade and Crystal light (and Hawaiian punch and Wylers) artificially sweetened products. Anyone jump the gun and switch from Clear liquids to full liquids a little early. I mean, I'm only two days before being able to switch to full liquids which would definitely help and give me some other choices like Soup creamy soup broth or bean soup broth. Just something other than the cold sweet stuff and chicken broth. If anyone did start full liquids or mushy foods early, did you have any problems? I'm not trying to encourage anyone to do so or suggesting it. I'm just asking for honest input from those that may have felt like I'm feeling....hungry and ready for the next step. LOL
  5. When was your surgery @@Karenlrn? Apologies if your stats are up. I can't see info when emailing from my phone. I just asked you this question under a diff post too so you don't have to answer twice lol.

    Dec 29th sleevers ?

    @@Karenlrn when was your surgery?
  7. @@Elode Where'd you find the Swanson starter broths? I couldn't find them at my local grocery stores. Are they at Walmart? I don't like coconut Water but I think I will just stick to water for the most part. Take a break from the sweet stuff. Thanks ladies!
  8. So I'm not as "not hungry" as I was hoping to be. I've heard stories about how people didn't feel hungry after surgery and had to remind/force themselves to eat or drink protein. When does that feeling kick in? Because I'm on day 4 post op and I'm hungry! Just as hungry as I was on day one of the pre-op diet.

    Bandages for how long?

Ok so the first paragraph in my post above was supposed to be quoted but it didn't show up that way. I quoted it from the post by @katanabutterfly. LOL

    Bandages for how long?

I was curious though, I had a drain and that's the only one I've kept covered all this time. The wound still looks open and wet when I change the big bandaid, so I was wondering if I should just let it air dry? It's almost fully closed, but I am scared of getting an infection. But at the same time I'm wondering if keeping it covered this long is prolonging the healing. I'm thinking of going sans bandaid tonight and seeing how it looks in the morning. I'm not used to having a port hole in my side... :-/ That's what I'm mostly concerned about; the drain site. I keep it covered and part of it has started to scab but there is still a small hole. I want to try letting it air dry/heal but I'm worried about germs getting in if I am only wearing a shirt and nothing to protect it. I am only 5 days post op so I think I will wait a couple more days and then maybe try going w/o a bandage. I've just been using bandaids since Ive been home. To those that asked about why some surgeons put drains in and others do not, I think it's just a matter of choice. They all seem to have their own reasons and ways of going about doing it. Think about all the variations in the pre-op diets. Ive heard others saying everything from 2 weeks of liquids only all the way to some not having a pre-op diet at all. I didn't mind having a drain. Esp after seeing all the gross stuff in it. Glad it was caught in the drain instead of floating around in my body lol. I'm just happy it was removed before I came home from the hospital.

    hungry on day 4

@Elode Ok so there's hope for me yet? lol Maybe I'm hungry because I haven't eaten yet I guess so all I think about is food. But you're saying once I can start eating food then I won't be so hungry, right?
  12. I've been here a time or two. Unfortunately I've needed those bigger clothes sometimes because of fad diets that didn't work out in the end for me. But not this time and not ever again ladies. We got this! (Singing) Let it go, Let it gooo! Can't hold it back anymore! Let it go, let it go, turn away and slam the door! Hahaha! Can you tell I have little ones in my house? :-)

    Bandages for how long?

I think mine were glued except for my drain site. There's just a big bandage on it that I was told to change daily after showering. I guess I better do it until I'm sure it has healed. Better safe than sorry.

    Dec 29th sleevers ?

Dr. Elias Ortiz and his team did my surgery and they were excellent! No complications. The staff has been super nice and helpful. I'm feeling so good that I'm even heading home a day early. I went through A Lighter Me and they've been fantastic at making sure I get where I need to go, carrying my luggage, taking me shopping and getting me some delicious broth. I highly recommend them and the medical staff.

    Dec 29th sleevers ?

I had a leak test done yesterday. It put my nerves at ease because i got to see the liquid go down my throat and into my new stomach on the screen. It's so small now!

    Dec 29th sleevers ?

I'm feeling fantastic! I ended up having my surgery at 2p on the 29th. I slept most of the rest of the day and yesterday but I managed to get up and do some walking yesterday too. Just got my IV out which is great so I don't feel so restricted. I had a little nausea after surgery but I feel fine now. I'm so glad to be on the other side of it now. Slow sipping some gatorade. It's strange not to feel hungry. I don't have any pain either. I had a little gas pain in my left shoulder yesterday but it's gone now. Whoohoo! They're taking good care of me here in Tijuana. I hope everyone else is doing well too.
  17. Did your pre-op diet allow for caffeinated drinks? Mine just says clear liquids. I'm not sure if that allows options such as black or green tea.

    Dec 29th sleevers ?

Good luck everyone! Anyone else not sleep last night? I didn't. I was like a kid waiting for Santa to come lol. My surgery isn't til 1030a today so needless to say I'm a ball of nerves and excitement. I've been awake and out of bed since 430a reminding myself not to eat or drink anything. Well not eating is fine now but it's the no drinking that I have to remember. I can't wait to hear from everyone to see how everything went. I'll be sure to share just as soon as I can too. For now, I'll continue my countdown. Lol

    Dec 29th sleevers ?

Well I was supposed to fly out this morning at 7:30a but one of the flight attendants felt ill so my flight was delayed to 11:15 for now. =( I'm tired but still excited. I'm closer to surgery today than I was yesterday! Good luck everyone!

  21. Thanks! What about Gatorade? Is that considered a clear liquid?

    Dec 29th sleevers ?

I'm scheduled for the 29th as well and I'm so excited! I don't know how I only just found this page today but I'm so glad I did. My pre-op diet was a bit of a struggle but now that I'm down to the last couple days there's no way I'm going to let anything stop me from staying on track. (I was a binge eater so it was really hard to only eat what was allowed. SUPER crabby and hungry on days 1-3. My insurance wouldn't cover my surgery so I'm having it done in Mexico so I'm really anxious about losing enough weight beforehand/shrinking my liver enough. I would be devastated to get all the way there and then not be able to have the procedure done. Out of curiosity, how much weight has everyone lost so far? I'm only down 9lbs. My pre-op diet allowed for 3 Protein shakes and a lean and green meal daily and I fully took advantage of it lol. I also cheated a little on Christmas but only liquids yesterday, today and tomorrow so I'm hoping to lose a few more in Water weight. Two more days everyone!!!! Is Gatorade considered a "clear liquid"?

    Any December 30th Sleevers ?!

Merry Christmas! I didn't have drinks but I indulged in a couple Christmas cookies that I now feel guilty for doing. But tomorrow's a new day. I'm going to do the clear liquid diet for the last few days until surgery (on the 29th) and pray everything will be ok. I'm just hoping my liver will be small enough.
