???? Calling all March Sleevers....let's support each other!????
purrfctangel replied to time for june's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm kinda freaking out a little. I've spent 9 months reading, interviewing, going to groups, researching, knowing it's time for this change and now I'm sorta choking a little. Total jitters. -

Awesome! Final meeting with my surgeon yesterday and i think he was a bit put out because i had no questions. Been on this journey for nine months and am probably overly educated if that's possible. My BP has been no small part of that. Thank you Alex for sharing your vision. -
What's the sponge straw thing? I'm a water guzzler and worried about that.

Pre-op Diet! successes? struggles?
purrfctangel replied to Katie Bartholomew's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is under 800 calories a day. Two shakes, then 2-3 cups of raw veggies with 4oz lean protein. I'm not a huge eater and have been hungry! I've added a bit of cheese, yogurt, salsa, guacamole, bacon bits, hummus to the huge salads while still doing the gym. Surgery is Monday! I think the diet is 90% to get you used to it. -

Okay friends, need input. Pre-op diet hasn't been awful but I've been getting increasing dizzy spells when i stand up. Today at the gym I finally had to lower my head and do a fast cool down because i thought i was going to pass out. I've also had headaches on and off. I'm doing 2 shakes and a small protein with raw veggies, at least 64oz water daily. My guess is sugar or bp. Had anyone else had this? -
@@NewgirlfromMd Fluids. Allergies. Keep moving. I've had one on and off but the gym helps. Get some fresh air even walk to the mailbox. Do breath.

Gasx won't help with post surgical gas. That gas they punp inside you to have room to work. Sometimes bubbles hide behind organs and just have to dissolve. Gasx helps stomach gas if you overeat or eat something disagreeable. Try getting someone to karate chop your upper back and shoulders, and keep moving.

@ You know i haven't done my Flonase in awhile. The gym did seem to help strangely enough. Yeah i have to stop NSADs before surgery. Not happy about it. Crushed vertebrae and hip replaced, Celebrex got me off pain meds. I know the weight loss will make it more tolerable but it's a point I'm going to argue. -

Yup doing about 80oz. Sip sip sip. Might be the weather with the spring snow. Just finished at the gym and it eased up a little. Said screw it and took some excedrine too. -

Five days into preop diet and I've had a two day headache. Gave up caffeine soda and fast food six months ago and have been doing shakes for a few months. Input or suggestions? -
4 weeks out. Depressed and questioning my choice.
purrfctangel replied to lclemur's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so grateful i had 9 months prep for this. I gave up fast food and soda 6 months ago. Getting rid of all processed foods. Taking carbs as far down as i could. Joined the gym. I've learned it's not a diet, it's a total lifestyle change and I'm totally ready for it! -
When I started the first time they wanted me to do sleep studies, arterial blood gas tests, cardiac consult, all kinds of xrays and scans. This time it was just minimum surgical preop. I think because my first one was a teaching hospital they get grant money for all kinds of data for long term studies. This time I'm in a private hospital.
