I want to cry
purrfctangel replied to jersey_girl_86's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jersey Girls are tough. You got this. -
What you fail to realize is I'd given it up for 6 months prior, struggling with the acid and the doubts and the boardwalk and the social situations. Now I'm on Prilosec and the problem has resolved itself. If your quick judgement is correct then a year from now you can say I told you so if I fail. I doubt you will.

One french fry and a fingernail of sugar free fudge. Turns out alot of it was acid burning my stomach making me constantly hungry.

@@NewgirlfromMd Awesome! I stalled phase 2 also and was immediately like oh this isn't gonna work either. Started phase 3 today and spent an hour cleaning the yard (an acre) for spring. Hope I'm as lucky like you and we'll watch the numbers drop together!

Well discovered that acid in my stomach was mimicking hunger so a couple days on Prilosec totally pulled that back under control. Great weight loss first 8 days then bam, dead stop. Really? I expected that at 3 weeks but not this soon. Getting about 60-70g protein, 50-65oz water. Walking alot in shopping mode and up and down stairs alot. Going out to do some light yard work today. Hoping it kick starts again because my mind is already saying great this won't work for me either. I know you all can't be wrong though.

really struggling

@@larlar So glad it's not just me. I started taking Prilosec. Apparently acid can mimic hunger. I feel so much better about this. No more waking up at 4am with stomach growing. -

Oh yes... puree sucks. However it's just for today. -
Almost two weeks post op and feeling almost too good. No nausea, no pain, no restrictive feelings. Good during the day but hunger pains in the evening. Not head hunger but real growling hunger. Restarted prilosec because it may be acid. Trying to keep protein up. Tired of planning food. SW 225, CW 208.

Am I going through STARVATION MODE?!
purrfctangel replied to x0CheekzVSG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm scrolling past all the drama but one phrase stood out - previous diet mentality, expecting to fail. Wow. This is what I've totally been feeling. Thanks! Taking what i need and leaving the rest. In the end this is all advice based on what we have experienced and if you have genuine concerns, you should be calling your Dr or Nut for what to do. -

really struggling
purrfctangel replied to eyhornmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ woo woo Thank you. I was spiraling a bit tonight. It was the first day the scale didn't go down (i need to stop the daily check) and I'm just hungry to the point my stomach growls. Drinking water so I've heard acid can cause/mimic hunger. Thinking of going back on Prilosec. I'm grateful i haven't had complications and pain and nausea but frustrated that I feel like I'm ready for a piece of chicken. -
really struggling

I'm really starting to struggle in another way. This has been way too easy. I almost feel like my Sleeve isn't working and i could eat anything. My stomach makes alot of noise but no pain, no nausea. I'm on pureed and made a smoothie. Kept sipping and just never felt that STOP feeling. It's taking willpower to not only have 2oz. This isn't what i expected. I almost want to eat something awful just to see if my Sleeve stops me. Any advice? -

1week post op diet

I can. Do you have paperwork or anything that lists what you can have? -
Yeah I'm single, involved with animal advocacy, very social. My family eats out half the time. I had to just suck it up and figure what works. I'm doing good and scale is still moving. 17lbs in ten days. I know it will stall soon but I'm loving it right now.

She does care about my best interest and i love her to pieces but shredding me wasn't effective. She's tough love and I get it, that's why I didn't fling it back at her. Instead i chose to continue feeling as wonderful about my journey and myself.

Okay, @@NewgirlfromMd you thought it out. You ate away from home. Was there a better choice? Probably. Thankfully your sleeve is working as you planned. If you feel guilty, THROW IT OUT. I have a few hard and fast rules and the biggest one is that if i must have something that will make me feel bad, i go find out,eat it and do not bring it home! Throwing away food is a tough one but big!

Maybe make and freeze your syntrax juices? Popsicles?

Okay you all will appreciate the pain here. Beautiful day, went to the ocean with my sis and mom. Oh all the tempting junk food! I had one small french fry, and half a sample of sugar free fudge. At dinner i ordered soup which i pretty much just kept dipping and licking my spoon. Plus walked more than a mile on the boards. I survived!
-
I feel guilty! I'm supposed to be on clear liquids but have "cheated" with some sugar free thin pudding, some tiny very chewed bites of egg white and WW string cheese. Getting in all liquids, today no uncomfortable feeling at all. Just tire easily. Wonder if my Sleeve is too big even?
-
I'm so sorry for you who are struggling. I flavored my water and i think that's been the biggest thing. I even had a couple tiny bits with my tiny silverware of deviled egg at dinner. Chewed the hell out of it. Hard to pass on bread and brownies but i keep thinking just get through right now and soon i can have satisfying substitutions. Keep at it ladies. Make the most of this honeymoon stage and focus on how awesome you will look and feel soon.

I wanted to skip dinner but it's a family thing. However I'm taking my own tiny plate and silverware. Might as well just throw the elephant in the room myself and laugh at it.

???? Calling all March Sleevers....let's support each other!????
purrfctangel replied to time for june's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the morning laugh! I add Crystal Light or Mio drops to my water to add flavor - goes down easier. I fill 4 plastic water bottles each morning and just carry with me. Sip during commercials. I've had a headache all week on and off, varying in intensity, and I'm getting all liquids so it's not that. Allergies maybe. -

@@yoyolie Your surgeon may have used a wider bogey, or you didn't have swelling. I'm certain if you tried to drink alot all at once you'd feel it. Talk to your dr for your follow up. Make sure you still have your liver!
