Hi everyone, I'm new to this site, which I found via a search engine on the web. I have done quite a bit of research and am scheduled to have surgery with dr. Lopez in Tijuana via bariatric specialist January 20th. I'm very excited and looking forward to starting this weight loss journey. I am very outgoing and miss many of the things I used to do. I was injured several years ago and as a result have become sedentary. Hence my weight gain. I was a petite person in high school, but after the birth of my second child begin to gain weight. However when injured weight gain went into overdrive. I like many of you, am looking forward to losing weight for a healthier me :-). Additionally I decided to have this surgery preventatively as I am predisposed for many comorbidities from family history. Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, cardiac disease, high cholesterol etc... When I began to gain weight my cholesterol increased, I was diagnosed with diabetes and I knew the diseases would keep piling up. So I decided to do something about it proactively. My bmi was 40 and I qualified for the surgery so I decided on a healthier me!
