I chose Dr Corvala because of his credentials and the hospital he worked out of. I was sleeved on 3/5/15 and had an excellent experience, so far down 27 lbs 7 weeks post-op. I think this is where I found my level of comfort going to Mexico to have my surgery, I also researched Dr Ungson at Almater hospital in Mexicali, where my friend had it done with Dr Acheves in 2014. I researched several others that were around the same cost or less but my peace of mind lead to my decision. Good luck to you!

I had my surgery on March 5th and have never felt restriction other than the burp or hiccup of air from my esophagus. I was very cautious as not to over eat because I did not want to experience this. I definitely can eat 4 ounces of food at a time with no problem!

It's an all day long thing, I've been getting in between 4 & 5 8oz glasses. I'm drinking the premier protein and only get two (30g protein) in. But I have got a cup of creamy soup and a cream of wheat in and I'm stuffed!! 11 days post-op.

I was sleeved 3/5 and had mine removed at 2 days, they told me the more I walked the more would drain, which was good. It didn't hurt having it removed just a minute of discomfort.

I had mine done by Dr Corvala in TJ, Mx on 3/5/15 at Angeles Hospital and am extremely happy.

I agree with wannabeskinnie. You still have to work hard by watching what you eat, choosing protein over carbs and sugar, and excercising. So that it what I will tell people, I don't need any judgmental people taking that away from me!

Glad to hear all went well with ur surgery! Did you bring gas-x strips? Did they help? I have my surgery March 6 with Dr Corvala and am anxious to get it done. I'll be following ur posts, get some rest. I'm also from the Savannah area.

Well said ladies! I hope noorjenna you feel better about your decision and know that you have the support from us! My story goes like this, I had a break up last year in May and found out he got married on Valentine's day this year, so I made arrangements to get my surgery on 2-17-15. I have been putting this off until we sold our house, (I don't know why I thought I should wait) but now I could kick myself for not doing this sooner. He obviously moved forward with his life, so put yourself first because no one else will! I'm scheduled for 3-5-15 with Dr Corvala in TJ.

I definitely will keep you posted! I feel confident with my choice, even though my gf went to Dr Acheves at Almater Hospital last February '14. She looks amazing and had no problems during her journey(except the head hunger and cravings, of course) she is now going for tummy and breast surgery in the states on Wednesday, maybe I'll b doing that next yr! Lol

Just scheduled mine for March 6th with Dr Corvala at Hospital Angeles, so excited (and a bit nervous). Anyone having theirs done then and traveling from the southeast maybe we could buddy-up! This site has been very helpful!
