    Question

I have a question for all the guys who have had the weight loss surgery, we hear about all the women who are going through the hormonal changes. Do we as men go through our own hormonal changes after the surgery. I had my surgery on 11/17 and am down over 50 lbs since surgery. I am just not feeling my-old-self since the surgery. Thanks everyone in advance.

    Question

Weather always makes me depressed and not feeling good mentally or physically due to other reasons but getting out to walk is a big challenge when. You live in the norther part of the USA with the snow and nasty weather. I have been told by my surgeon that I am not able to go to the gym yet and he has notified the gym of my situation which I hope gets better soon. I just have to do what I have to do in my own way and right now it is walking at work and around my house. Just to elaborate on why I am not able to go to the gym still is I have an open wound on my belly from an infection I got from my bowel obstruction 4 days after my rny surgery. I am thinking there is other issues that have caused this not to heal properly from past abdominal surgeries for hernia's.

    Question

It has been a long month plus. My energy has not come back to anywhere it was before surgery back on 11/17/04 but I have had some set backs after some progress in healing but such as life. I tell myself that my body isn't liking the change I made to it and is trying to deal with it everyday and is getting better with it all the time. My mental state of mind is still depending on how my body is doing I am assuming right now and that is what I am telling myself. I know things will get better but for me it is a slow process of recovery.

    Quick question

I am just starting my 6 week post-op and ended up with a stricture and the dilation was done this morning. Who has had this done and how long was it before you were able to eat and get back to your post-op diets?
  8. I am in my week 5 after surgery and I am having trouble with the soft food part of my diet. I try things and no sooner I eat I am throwing up what I ate and a lot of the flem prior to any of the food I ate. I am not sure what is happening here or am I pushing the soft food part of my journey too fast? Any advise or help would be appreciated so I can start to feel better on this journey I decided to take and loose the weight with the help of this great tool I have.
  9. I had my surgery on 11/17 which was a Monday spent 9 months to get the surgery through all the hoops and appointments I had to do for the VA to cover everything I have to have to take care of. On day 2 of my recovery I ended up not being able to keep anything down. I ended up back in the operating room that Friday night for a fix. I was told from my surgeon that the surgery would only be 30-40 minutes and it would be a quick in and out of surgery, this was not the way it was.....the surgery ended up being almost 4 hours due to a bowel issues and previous hernia surgeries I had in the past. 3 days after that 2nd surgery I ended up with a infection in the open abdominal surgery I had. I ended up staying in the hospital for 2 weeks and it is just about to start 5 weeks tmrw and I am still in pain and haven't gone back to work as of yet. Still fighting the open incision and hopefully I will be able to go back to work part-time this upcoming week but we will see.....just about how much pain I am still in.

    New guy here.....

This is not the 1st surgery I have had with complications so that wasn't anything I couldn't adapt to other than not being told what was going on for 3 days until my surgeon come back at the first of the week after my 2nd surgery. I have had gallbladder surgery and 3 hernia surgeries and my 2nd hernia surgery is where I had all the complications such as infection (packing for 5 weeks 2 times a day, wound vacuum for 6 weeks and out of work for 3 weeks). This is not my first rodeo but it definitely sucks.....
  11. I have been out of surgery since 11/17 and haven't hone back to work since.....I had the main surgery at that time and had complications by the middle of that week and ended un having another surgery at the end of the week for the complications and was there for another week. I plan on trying to go back sometime this week for a couple hours a day but it all depends on how I feel for how long I stay at work.
