Sleeve on February 2 ....excited
Jenngf5 replied to Hindy74's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! -
I think it depends on the dr. Weight lost prior to surgery, etc. My dr/ins wanted a 5% weightloss and goes by the south beach diet. Pre op diet for me is just phase 1 of south beach. Congrats on your date and good luck!!

Good luck. Some days I'm really good with this decision and others not so much. Last minute jitters and doubts. Today I got a call to register for my hospital visit. Got all my clearances and approvals. Yikes. -

I'm also scheduled for the 19th. Would like to share the journey with you. :-) -
This is a great topic!! Mine is to Just say "yes"! Yes I'll partake in the turkey trot, go skiing (next season), wear shorts, take care of #1 (that's me), be kind to others, love my kids and husband to the fullest and just say "yes" when asked to do things that may be outside my comfort zone First though...surgery in a cple weeks.

Thanks and happy new year! I think the holiday stress, ridding myself of nicotine and keeping my weight stable over the holidays just sent me a little over the edge. I am beginning to prepare myself and family for my surgery on the 19th. They're grown up and not babies so they can handle things!!! ???? I even stocked up on some 4 pack of low zero carb/sugar single serve Protein drinks today that were on sale at the grocery store. ☺️ Good luck and thank you for your support. Happy New Year! -

My date is 1-19-15!! Very excited. Go Monday for my bloodwork and the 13th for final weigh in. I agree. Some of His office staff can suck and they are inconsistent I couldn't get the same answer twice from some of them and I called him and his secretary on it. I've quit smoking, lost twenty pounds and still felt like shit for splurging a little on thanksgiving too so do I need to lie about the two Christmas Cookies I ate? That's not what this program/support is about. Needless to say I'm letting it roll off...and I will put the cookies on my food log! I'm proud of all my accomplishments and hard work since I committed myself to a healthier lifestyle Good luck to you. And keep ya posted on dates and progress!!! -

Oops. I've been going round and round since August and really wanted to get in before the end of the year. I even lost the 5% before my first appt. I finally have a date for mid January but not first without getting told DO NOT GAIN WEIGHT over Christmas and new year! So no cookies for me this Christmas. Enjoy your holiday knowing that you will see him soon and have your date! Good luck and stay strong! -

Congrats on your surgery date!! 2015 is our new year! From what I heard from the dr they really want you up and moving but if you don't have a comfy couch of which you can toss a pillow under a cushion to help you get up off it during the first few days I'm sure that you could rent one from one of the medical stores or even like a rent-a-center though that may be a rip off. I have a high bed I can roll off of. And I'm going to have to train my goldens to be working dogs! Good luck with the whiteboard! I'm going to be updating my calendar, arranging rides for my youngest son, putting my 18 yr old to work and making "honey do lists" too after the holidays! Keep us posted on progress. Merry Christmas and Happy New year!!! -

Hi all! New here but have enjoyed reading all the posts. I was suppose to meet w dr Hoffman on the 18th too but snovember jinxed that-but met with him today. Would've loved to get in before for new year, but i did get a surgery date and will be starting my New Year on Jan 19th! Quit smoking tobacco (and busted my ass to lose 20lbs) and went on the ecig which all the nurses said was acceptable but not to the dr! Beginning tomorrow (lol) I've got to quit the Nicotine and get through the holidays without gaining weight... Signed.... nervous, excited, anxious and scared!
