Congrats on a successful surgery. I read a lot about people doing water with the protein powder. Kills two birds with one stone -

So confused!...
phillyfan99 replied to momoftwins+1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would suggest maybe switching up dinner and making a piece of chicken or fish with some veggies in small portions and eat the Protein first. I am on my preop diet and I have a shake in the am mixed with half skim milk and half Water (20oz total). I have a piece of fruit (apple) mid morning snack. Protein Bar for lunch (Quest Cookies and cream) Another shake in the after noon the same was as above Dinner is a piece of meat(chicken or fish 4-5oz) and 2/3 cup of mixed veggies... I feel full all day.. I also drink my water during the day about another 30ozs or so... -

If you weigh yourself everyday you will see this. It can be Water weight, stress etc... I would suggest picking one day a week to weigh yourself in the morning(I usually do it after I shower) and doing it the same day of the week. If you look at the scale you will drive yourself insane.. Also I see that you said you are starving yourself how many CAL are you getting in each day? -
Curious -- could you have done it without Weight Loss Surgery?
phillyfan99 replied to Vikingsfan8178's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was in the same boat as you. I am 37, 2 kids married, desk job and been up and down on weight.... my highest being 320+ and lowest being 235... Starting weight before preop diet was 282 (four days ago) today I am 276... 4 years ago while a visit to my PCP I discussed weight lost surgery. He said he thought it would be a great idea for me as he has seen me struggle for 13 years so I took his advice and visited the DR and discuss surgery. He gave me all the required paper work and said call me when you are done all the tests... I got home and said what am I doing to myself am I trying hard enough to lose the weight... I questioned it so many times that I threw the paper work away.. I work my but off to lose weight to only gain it back every time. Here I am four years later back to the same doctor, all tests completed and waiting for approval from the insurance for surgery which is scheduled January 16th. I must say I am so ready for this. I been reading this site for months, talking to people who had the surgery and reading the internet to get the most information I can to be successful. -
I did all the tests required and it took me two months. I could have gotten sleeved in December but held off. I am scheduled for the 16th of this month. If it was me I wouldn't rush it. I would do all the tests necessary, as you want your surgery to be as easy as possible.

Surgery in the morning...Prayers Appreciated!

Sending prayers you're way! -
So I been browsing this site for a few months now and figured it was a good time for a first post. I am being sleeved on January 16th by DR. Neff... pending insurance approval which I hope I get soon as the liquid diet starts today... At this point my mind is all over the place as I have supporters (my wife, kids and close family) and people that question my decision (close friends).. I feel I am doing the right thing to live a healthy life. I have struggled with weight for many years heaviest being 340 and lowest being 235... I am currently at 282lbs today, and looking forward to losing the weight and putting in the work for the weight to stay off.. Any one else getting sleeved on the 16th and starting the liquid diet today? I started on liquids Monday to get a head start and to get over the headaches that come with lack of caffeine and sugar. Hopefully I am posting in the correct area...

I am doing three shakes a day and one small meal. I find it easier to make a shake every three to four hours depending on work and my I eat my meal when I hungry at night.

Thanks Dave...
