I was so excited about the sleeve until the NUT class!
Granny Barbie replied to landry1135's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You will be fine! I love Mexican food too, but that was a main reason I gained my weight! Now I can eat an enchilada and feel stuffed! When you go out to eat all you do is eat what you are comfortable with and take the rest home. When I get a half order of quesadillas, I have 4 meals! It's nice to eat and NOT feel miserable afterwards. I could eat a whole medium pizza before, now 1 slice. You get used to smaller meals and the size 10-12 feel and look so much better than the 22-24! Good luck! You can do it! -

Should I cancel my surgery? Help!
Granny Barbie replied to Nibbler's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
After gallbladder surgery, I was able to take a 7 hour drive to see family the next day and after my surgery, I was driving the next week. My Dr ordered home health for 3 weeks to make sure I was walking and doing ok. No lifting for awhile. But it is ultimately up to you. Talk to your daughters doctor and to your surgeon. You also will need moral support to figure out what to do. Get it done now you will be ready to go when the babies get here, put it off until things are running smooth again and you may never get the surgery. I'll be praying for you to do the right thing and for your daughter and the babies! Good luck! God Bless you! -

Don't get discouraged, take your measurements and then check them once a month. I found on the weeks it felt like I didn't lose, it was inches I lost! Good luck on your journey! I'm 8 months out and almost at goal. If the weight would come off like the first 3 months, I would be at goal 2 months ago. Patience is one thing your sleeve teaches you.

Have you ever swallowed something by mistake?
Granny Barbie replied to SleeveandRNYchica's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I accidentally swallowed a chewable vitamin and ended up in the ER. the Dr said to drink some Sprite (or any carbonated) drink and it would dissolve the pill. Not sure about the cherry pit though. But yes it hurts! -
Getting Sleeved on Tuesday...8/4.... Any advice on how to prepare...both physically...and what should I bring with me? thank you ????
Granny Barbie replied to flipper72's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't forget the robe! Remember hospital gowns have changed a bit, but some still open in the back. Don't be nervous about the surgery, talking to the nurses you will find most of them have had the surgery! Good luck! -

CPAP Machine. I have no love for it.
Granny Barbie replied to Essence46's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Since my surgery, I've been able to get off my machine. My husband said my snoring is very rare now and I'm breathing all night. I may talk to my doctor to get another sleep test just to make sure. But for now, I'm enjoying not wearing it! -
155 yea! Scales finally moving!!

Still miserable begging for advice
Granny Barbie replied to brandeett's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a problem with swallowing the first 2 weeks and gas pains. Dr suggested gasx . That worked. Your body has just gone thru major surgery so give it time to heal. I also had trouble sleeping because of the GERD. Took 3 weeks before I could sleep lying down. I'm 7 months out and have no problems. Don't rush the food, your body will let you know when you can tolerate it. Good luck! -
I just saw Tea 2 Go carries them individually.

It puts air in your stomach. I get the hiccups and feel full.
