Both 16th sleevers. First done with gas x...were u able to pass the gas or it just absorbed? 2nd sleever still eating, lol r u able to pass any? Maybe im impatient since just sleeved yesterday, but I need to pass gas, poop or something. I feelbloated and the gas pain hurts when I sip my water and it travels down.

How long was your liquid stage?
aclinton16 replied to GeorgiaT's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Funny, I asked this question Wednesday at my pre-op appt and the bariatric nurse said due to the unique techniques each surgeon uses, they derive plan based upon their surgical methods. That's why people advise that you only follow the directive of your physician. when we probably all were thinking, hey don't the all just cut part of your stomach off... LMAO... well nope ...surgeons are just like artists, that's what they do but all have different methods.... My physician also requires Clear Liquids PO 1 day Full liquids 14 days as tolerated Mash/soft 14 days as tolerated. At 5 weeks our forever diet. My date is this Tuesday 12/23 -

Upper Arm Flabby Skin
aclinton16 replied to mnmlst's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ha! I'm 47 and before surgery my arms are and have been very flabby, they HANG and wiggle already.... so I know it's only going to get worse when I have the surgery on 12/23 and lose weight. I'm already prepared for that. :-( I think my only option will be surgery. Does anyone know what the rules are for your insurance to approve? Or is it very different for every company? I know some people say insurance will cover 1 surgery after a bariatric procedure? Anyone have any info on this? -
Hi, My surgery date is next week Tuesday, December 23rd. I have read many different opinions about the first 2 weeks post-op. I'm a realist and would like to know what most found most difficult in the first 2 weeks, and what you did that helped. I hear from suffering really badly with gas, hiccups, painful swallowing, being hungry on liquid diet, not getting in enough Protein. Please share with me your challenges and how you overcame them and any other helpful hints you think I can benefit from. Also has anyone tried the Bariatric Advantage Protein shakes? I ordered a few of those to see if they will agree with me.

Pre op liquids
aclinton16 replied to Brandie Harris's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ lynziv all Doctors are different. I have found some do not require a liquid diet at all, some 2 days before, some 1 week prior, and 2 weeks is the MOST I have ever heard. Mine does not require it, but I think I will do a 48 hour liquid diet anyway. It's supposed to help the liver shrink and u can kinda get used to or determine which Protein shakes you like or dislike. My date is next week 12/23. -
Advice for first 2 weeks post-op?
aclinton16 replied to aclinton16's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@ Bufflehead thank you sooooo much. Yes, I do hear alot of "common" things some say the experienced. But your point was very well received. We are all different and may not experience any of that junk. Good to know. Trust, I will not try to be a hero, and good tip about the sitting up and waiting on myself. I had already envisioned myself in bed, in pain, helpless... Lol -
What is everyone NOT going to miss after sleeve?
aclinton16 replied to alexsisv's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG! and I thought I was the only one who sweats all the time! smh.. that is the FIRST thing I cannot wait to stop doing. It is so embarrassing to be so cute and cant look anyone in the store or anywhere else in face cuz i'm sweating profusely!!!!! ugh. Airplane seat second... YES! I travel alot and i try to have friends or family fly with me so we can sit together so i wont be so embarrassed by asking for an extend-a-belt and the worries of offending others... how many pounds do i need to lose for that to happen? 100?? Lol whatever it is I can't wait! FEET.. ok this may sound weird but did anyone's feet get smaller too? Past 6 years my feet have widened and makes it hard for shoes and cannot fit in old shoes.. now I have to wear 1/2 size larger and a wide width instead of medium. Please tell me this will change too! I'm so ready to see "my" face again.. Lol I dont know the strange face that has taken control of me... :-)
