I need all the help and reassurance I can get as I am anxious and scared of surgical procedures. I'm ready to just get it over with. Everyone including healthcare providers are congratulating me on getting the gastric sleeve surgery and i'm thinking in my head "congrats?" I'm scared out of my wits.. Lol
 
Haven't had a surgical procedure since 1992. With that being said once over the jitters I can start becoming a little more excited my the thought of changing diet and on way to a healthier life.
 
I think I will do well (hopefully) as I haven't gained any weight in the past 2 years, this will be an adjustment i'm not kidding myself about that. 
Questions I have... 1. smoking, I have been a social smoker (smoke when drinking) for years. But this month I put down the cigarettes and now vape when  i drink, but is this just as bad? I mean some of the liquids contain nicotine, though I have just purchased a 0 nicotine flavor last week.
 
My date is 2 weeks away 12/23 and pre-op next week. 
I know at least 5 people who have had the sleeve and all except 1 has been successful. Any realistic stories of the struggle, the successes will be great at this time...
 
As I have elected not to share this news with many people until after the surgery, so I'm relying upon my friends here at bariatricpal to help me through this.
