    Any December Sleevers

December 10th *runs around screaming in excitement* AHHH!!! I'm so ready!
  2. The day before my pre op diet, my mom and I went out for my "last real meal" for sushi, which is my favorite food in the entire world. I kinda went off the deep end but I got back on track and didn't beat myself up over it. I'm still under by two pounds for what I'm supposed to be for surgery. Just pick yourself up by your bootstraps and you'll be fine

    Carbonated drinks?

I used to drink over 80 Oz of diet Mt dew every day before I started my journey (I'm still pre op, three days til surgery) and it was really hard at first, especially weaning from the caffeine. You can do it, though. I've redirected my addiction to Poweraid zero, which counts towards my water intake. I hate bland plain water. They have lots of good flavors. Too many in a day though can backfire because of the sodium from the electrolytes in them. You can even try water flavorings like mio, crystal light, etc. Beware of too much use of things made with liquid stevia, caused major abdominal distress. Lol. Splenda usually gets me through my sweet cravings. I hope this helps you a bit. I know how much I LOVED my diet soda, but I promise you'll be able to let it go

    Why Am I So Cold?

I know this is an old thread but I figured this would help out. Ghrelin not only regulates our hunger but it helps in our energy input and output. When we don't have it anymore through the sleeve, our bodies lose more heat through energy than when we had the hormone doing its job. I'd rather be cold all the time and be healthy than fat and hot and hungry. Lol.
  5. We're about the same height, same sw and same goal weight. I'm three days away from surgery so this really inspires me. You look so beautiful. Please teach me how to do eyeliner like that! On point.

    T-minus 4 days!

Thank you! I'm making a list of things I need to bring. My bestie brought me a little care package of stuff including fuzzy socks, chapstick and lotion. It was so thoughtful. I wouldn't have thought to bring chapstick or mouth spray/lozenges. I forget they have to stick tubes down my throat lol. Definitely bringing my phone to entertain myself and a book. I wish I had an iPad now! Haha. I just got some super comfy pajamas, robe and slippers for when I'm walking the halls I don't have to be in a godawful hospital gown.
  7. My surgery is in four days good luck to you. I know we can get through this!
  8. I haven't been light headed but every day since I've started my pre op diet I get completely exhausted at about 3 pm like clockwork and have to lay down for a nap. (unless I'm at work then I just suck it up)
  9. On Wednesday the 10th I will FINALLY be having my vertical sleeve gastrectomy and hernia repair. This has been a very long and arduous journey for me. I started August of 2013 (yes last year) down the path to get this done. 15 months and a switch in insurance later, piled on top of lost paperwork at the new surgeon's office, delays with my psychiatrist and six months of non-surgical weight-loss, I'm finally here. I'm more ready than ever. I'm so excited I can't sleep. I'm a 24 year old female, 5'6", currently 300 lbs. My heaviest weight was 346 and I'm proud to have lost the forty pounds but it took me a year. Mentally and physically I'm prepared for this. I keep looking at before and after pictures of other people who have had the surgery, trying to figure out what exactly I'll look like at a normal weight... I've been obese since I was four years old. I don't know what thin and healthy feels like, but I'm so ready for it. On a side note, if anyone reads this... What should I pack in my hospital bag? They plan on keeping me for two days. Ps hi I'm new to this forum I'm so glad I found it.
