He offered to hang me upside down... (perhaps some TMI)

Feel free to "friend" me. My life is a freakin' riot sometimes!

    Okay, we'll go with that.

    DENIED - Federal BCBS

Read the denial letter to determine how to start your appeal. Then, if it is write a letter, you will want the letter to be no more than one page. Quote the section of the benefit manual that specifies supervised diet, and quote the portion of the denial letter that applies. Your kicker will be, "As you can clearly see from the quoted benefit, there is no requirement as is quoted in the denial letter. Please overturn the improper denial and issue an authorization for the (name of surgery), to be performed by (name of doctor) at (name of hospital)."

    Drinking after gastric bypass

Find something to replace drinking with. Knitting, crochet, cross stitch, competitive bubble gum blowing, whatever.
  5. I had one day of liquids pre-op, and started at 403 pounds.

The forums are getting out of control

@@LipstickLady You ruined the rant by moving it to rants!

The forums are getting out of control

Surely someone should have complained by now pointed out that this is in the general section, and not the rant section.
  8. salad is the exception to my NUT's rule about how much food to eat. I'm at the 1/3-1/4 cup stage (at 9 months). In addition to that portion, I can also have up to half a cup of salad if I want.

The forums are getting out of control

Well, then, all of our names are in one place, it will be easy to add us to your "ignore" list. We're helpful like that. Sometimes.

The forums are getting out of control

Can someone point us to it? It is not where I've found it on other forums.
  11. I had mine at the same session as my colonoscopy. I was out cold.
  12. Miralax is polyethylene glycol. It works by increasing the amount of Water in the intestines to help move things along. Milk of Magnesia is magnesium hydroxide. It also works by increasing the amount of water in the intestines. Prunes contain sorbitol, which is a natural sugar that loosens the stool. Eating prunes is better than drinking the juice, because it also adds fiber. If you are not allowed the eat the fruit, then drinking the juice is the next best thing. Personally, I always prefer the natural route, if possible.
  13. Prune juice does not have pulp. Since you're uncomfortable, I say go for it. For people who are not experiencing discomfort, don't do it.
  14. I've been less active around the forums lately - I know we all go through it, our interest waxes and wanes. Sometimes I feel like I have nothing to contribute. Sometimes I feel like I'm just at a different place in my life now, and I'm no longer desperately searching for as much information as I can find. Someone wrote to me privately recently, and told me that my post about coming out as poly gave her the courage to come out to some of her family as poly. The words that I keep seeing like a flashing neon sign are these: "I really admire you for your authentic living - I am not quite there yet (as evidenced by this private msg and not public on your thread)." Welllllllll. Time to confess I'm human. And I don't like it one little bit! I've been hovering between 246 and 247 pounds for 17 days now. Am I in a stall? Hell no. I've let things creep back into my life that shouldn't be there. Alcohol. Snacks. Not enough fluids. I'm human. Make it STOP! Being human is wayyyy overrated! F**k!

    Is it true ?

Being full and being hungry (or not hungry) are two different things. I'm at 9 months, and I rarely if ever get hungry. I eat the amount I'm supposed to eat; I don't eat to get full.

    Poop problems

Are you uncomfortable? If you're not in discomfort, I would do nothing. You're having mostly liquids, it may take a while for something more solid to move through your system enough to make it to your large colon. Even if you're eating something solid, it may not have enough Fiber to actually produce any stool.
  19. I love you guys. And not in that slutty way that we like. Okay, some of you I do love that way.

I fight insomnia regularly. I think menopause has added more sleeplessness nights. Hot flashes :|

      Sharon1964

I skated thru menopause with no hot flashes (knock on wood), but I can't sleep any more than four to six hours per night, at the most. Just a year ago, I could kill it for 8 hours easily.

Itmay not be a friend, but at least it keeps you company when you can't sleep.....No hot flashes here, either. In fact, no nothin' at all in that regard. One month a period and the next month not. It was as brutal a passage as that.

  21. There are around 30 grams of carbs in the banana alone, depending on the size. That's too much for a snack or even a meal for me. I container of dannon light & fit greek yogurt has 9 grams of carbs and 12 grams of Protein.
