Period. Please read and shed some light
freshair replied to TiffanyMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No problem anytime specially when I can relate so closely to you. I can't really tell you if i gained weight because of the depo cause there were so many factors that could've contributed to my weight gain so i can't say it was the depo or the pcos or bad eating habits. Ehat i can say is that the weight gain was probably a combination of many many things. I to want to have a family as I'm 30 and haven't had children and yes i too was told that it will be easier to conceive after surgery but not safe for either of us so soon. And i was also told that we can't use birth control pills anymore after bypass as we wont absorb them properly so they won't work. Hope everything works out for you and things start to clear up. Get a blood pregnancy test just to be 100 % sure -
Hey all i had RNY December 1st so im a dew days shy of 2 months. So my diet was 2 weeks liquids 2 weeks puree and 6 weeks soft foods. First 3 stages were good no issues when i started soft foods i was doing well as well but I've noticed that now almost nothing sets well unless it yogurt really soft cereal. Even my go to ground beef and beans isn't really setting well. I have a few bite and get nauseous so not even eating 1/4 cup. Protien bars seem ok but everything takes me forever to eat like almost an hour if not more. Things weren't like this at first is it that my pouch is less tolorent now that I've healed more?? Anyone else go through this?

Birth control post op
freshair replied to AC274132's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The pill isn't as affective against pregnancies after bypass. It will still help to regulate periods though so I wouldn't suggest it. I can't do the iud either because I don't have children. My OBGYN won't do it, went to an other one and also wouldn't do it. And i can no longer take depo cause of risks of osteoporosis so I'm doing the evra patch now and condoms seems to be ok so far. -
Period. Please read and shed some light
freshair replied to TiffanyMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey @@TiffanyMarie , I have somewhat gone through the same as you. Having pcos for the last almost 15 years I've always had fouled cycles. Birth control specifically depoprovera needle is what has worked for me. Now after surgery i too had a lot if irregular perriods and multiple times of the month and once for about 3 weeks straight. I have since switched to the patch and it has helped regulate my cycle. I also had my surgery in December so I'm right there with you. What i have been tokd by my endocrinologist is that the rapid weight loss makes our hormones go crazy and hyperactive, also we become extremely fertile at this stage but pregnancies so early on are not recommended. So if you get an other test and are not pregnant i would suggest talk to your doctor and see what he suggest is best method of birth control as it could help. -

Where are all the Canadians ?
freshair replied to canadianchick's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Since you've done so much already probably after your first appointment You can get things sped up. Remember to bring all your test results etc. After that it's really a calling game call call call to get the rest of your appointments sped upThanks for the encouragement. I am calling every few days and trying to get something anything! booked. Some people who started at the same time as me have had their surgeries, which frustrates me. I'm not giving up though. I get the feeling they make this process so painful to weed out people who aren't serious. Lol I'M NOT GIVING UP! ???? You're right! I think is part of the game. Also remember that by the time it'll take you to get your surgery at TWH you'd would still be waiting for appointments in Hamilton. So chin up and keep going! -

@@carolk36 i think gor someone like me who started at over 300 lbs ya 180 is my final goal lol so yup I'd to wouldd ve happy at 180. But i still wouldn't want to be a healthy 300+ person. Cause let's face it even if you are healthy you're still a little limited at mu starting weight so for me losing weight has a lot to do with it too -

I'm not trying to put anyone down except companies who take advantage of our weight to make money. Again my issue is that they advertise eat all the food you love and lose weight and most of us who have gone through some weight loss surgery know that that just isn't the case. Because if i love pizza and wings and eat pizza and wings everyday im a gonna have the same results as you. I doubt that. Again what I don't luke about slim band is that they make it seem easy peasy. And we all know it's not that easy. And again as I've read on here do many plp with the band have issues with fills slips etc. So my point is don't make it seem like a cake walj cause it's not. I don't like thier marketing scheme. I'm not tryning to down any individual who has used them and had succeeded. On the contrary I'm happy for anyone who has gone through this life changing experience and been successful. I find slim band to be trying to lure you in and only interested in your money and not offering a lot of support and clear guided rules to follow like other programs i researched and again this could just be the office in Toronto. Sorry if you felt i was trying to put you or anyone else down.

Hey all banders as I'm not a a fellow bander i just wanted to share/ask you guys something. Wgen i started to look into WLS i really wanted to get a lap band but I'm in canada and we only get the bypass or sleeve covered. If we want the band we need to pay out of pocket. But after doing some research i realized that slim band was false advertising anyways because they advertise get the band eat whatever you want in smaller portions and lose weight! Now that I've read some of your stories this advertising is sooo not true. My question is how does that make you guys feel?
