unsupportive family - help needed
emsgirl114 replied to cadladykim's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you've made up your mind. Don't let fear stop you. Don't let their fear stop your journey. You've come this far. Imagine what your future can hold. Imagine with out what ifs. Imagine being healthy and happy. And not being fearful. You deserve to feel good inside and out. IT IS WORTH IT. You are worth it. -
My meds were no where as good as that. Or I'm glad no one gave me my phone till I was a little more coherent.

Not feeling sure about going through with WLS...
emsgirl114 replied to nolongerhere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Health issues. Looking older then my peers who didn't huff and puff after walking 20 feet. That is why I did it. Yea I worried about loose skin, always being restricted, all those things. And then I remembered or was reminded that being 250+lbs was ultimately a death sentence. And I have a very stressful high pace job, teenagers and at the time my social life was zilch. I needed to do something or something bad was around the corner. -
What do I bring to the hospital?

What is everyone NOT going to miss after sleeve?
emsgirl114 replied to alexsisv's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not going to miss going in to a room and determining if I'm the biggest person in the room or not. -
I would not consider YOU a successful WLS patient!
emsgirl114 replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You are a success. You know it on your heart or you would have just agreed with mcmeany. You are a survivor as well. A survivor of obesity. You fought it. You didn't let it kill you. Nor will this. You have survived everything ever thrown at you in order to make it to this very moment in time. Your success was do to hard work. If you have a hypoglycemic disorder you will deal with that and be successful. Survival vs successful. Isn't it one in the same. You fought and defeated one of the most prolific killers: obesity. You can do anything and win. -

I pray every morning that when I step on that scale it will be a little less then the day before. Ounce by ounce. -
Anybody having surgery the 24th of Nov? What a countdown buddy?
emsgirl114 replied to Jacqbult's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm experiencing really bad dizziness when I stand up or when I've been standing for even a short period of time. Anyone else? I stalled out on days 12-15 and then weighted 3 pounds less. But now this dizziness. I'm down 16lbs and I'm happy with that. When I stalled i increased my intake to about 900 cal. I wanted to tell my body I wasn't trying to starve it and we still could have food. I think that's the trick. -

My lunch bag is a sad place right now
emsgirl114 replied to JenWith's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've been having a diet hot chocolate. 20 cal. 4g of sugar. I add a table spoon of whey protein to get a little protein in. But... I haven't gone back to work yet. I do Monday. A little worried bout the daily avalanche of goodies brought in by my peers. I will remind my self that nothing taste as good as healthy and slim. Also gerber baby food has these little yogurt melt snacks. They are low sugar and fat free. I might grab a bag of those and keep them handy in case I need a substitute. -
call your doctor. That is how I was on day 4 and ended up with and infection.

emsgirl114 replied to MS_Science_Sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yea, I've successfully had small curd cottage cheese, canned chicken, PB2, yam and that's it...I guess I need soft food advice too! -

why don't you start adding some soft well cooked non- gassy vegetables. Yams, carrots, spinach, squash. Also fish, canned chicken, turkey. I sound so knowledgable. I'm not, just in the same boat. I started softs this week too. I want to stay with purée cause that works. But... We need to return to eating a varied diet. Before surgery I made and froze a huge mess of vegetable chicken Soup. Nearly fat free and so low calorie. I had been puréeing that. I might try it regular tonight. Debating. -
it's awesome that you can say you're 10 pounds away!! Congrats. I guess being that close will help you to keep eating healthy and exercise and if nothing else maintaining all your work

Good luck! I transitioned from the band as well. 16 days out. Lost 60+ with band and then got sick and had to open. Gained 30 back.

You look great, I'd even say like a person who has never had a weight issue! Great job! -
I'm only 16 days out and I stalled out on day 13. Actually gained 2 pounds by yesterday (day 15). But this morning their was 4lbs loss! SW 199 CW 183 GW under 150 (FYI I transitioned from a lapband-SW 252) I dread longer stalls. But have to keep remembering it's just our bodies adjusting.
