As of today I have lost 200lbs. I started at 439 and today 239. My goal was to reach 239 by April 1st, but with God's help, hard work at the gym by burning 2000 - 2100 calories a day in cardio and weightlifting and eating around 1100 to 1200 calories a day i have hit my goal much earlier than expected. I'm so proud of myself because i haven't weighed under 250 since i was 13 years old and I'm 38 now. For anyone thinking they can't lose the weight use my story as inspiration because it can be done, and i will help anyone that wants to try. I have to thank my husband and kids for keeping me focused everyday and loving me. I also can't forget the rest of my family, who has also given me the encouragement i needed also. One year today on December 15, 2014, I was given a new life and a second chance to live my life to the fullest instead of letting it pass me by. I want to wish myself a Happy One Year Anniversary on my weight loss journey! I may not have hit my goal of losing 200lbs by today, but I am proud of the 185lbs that I have lost. Plus, I know that I will get pass this stall and hit my goal of 239 very soon. This journey has had its ups and downs but it is worth it, so I can live to grow old with my husband and see our kids grow up and have a family of their own. I have to thank my family and friends for all the love and support they have given me while I have been on this journey. It is just the beginning for me and my family, as we all start to really enjoy life and all that it has to offer.

December Surgery Thread - we rock!
leanora27801 replied to bellabloom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi guys, I had my surgery December 15, 2014, and like you, my one year anniversary is fastly approaching. I have had a hard time with my old eating habits for the past month, but I winning the battle and have gotten back on the right path. My one year goal is to be at 239. I'm only 14lbs away, and I know that I can do it! How is everyone else doing? Also Happy Anniversary Everyone!!???????? -
I have chronic asthma and lupus, along with a list of other disorders. Since my surgery on December 15, 2014, my lupus flare ups have become more frequent and my breathing has been bothering me which makes me use my oxygen more. Well, almost two weeks ago, my doctor put me on a prednisone sliding scale. The first three days of the five day treatment went great, then the next day all my symptom returned full force. So going back to the doctor this past Friday, he doubled my dosage and extended my treatment for 10 more days. I have already gained 2 lbs on the five day treatment and I'm scared as hell about what will happen on this 10 day treatment. Has anyone taken prednisone after having surgery and did you gain any weight and how did you lose it?

I am in the same mind set, and I realized that i had finally started to enjoy life and be healthy and nothing, including food was going to drive me back to the weight that I was before. When you see the scale going in the wrong direction, it will be the wake up call you need. So before you see that happen think about where you came from, how had you had to work, and how much more healthy and happy you are now. You also can make a weight lose bucket list and list all the things you couldn't do when you were heavier and make those things your new goal in life.

Has anyone tried this program through their gym. My gym started this program that customizes your workouts for you each time you go to the gym based on the gym equipment available, your desired results. It is very helpful, if you're like me, and don't know where to start and don't have the money to pay a personal trainer. Here's my printout of my workout that i started today that focused on my chest and legs. Tomorrow my workout will work on my arms and legs.

Thank you! -
I started out walking for the first two weeks after surgery, then once my surgeon cleared me, I worked out lightly and gradually worked my weights and intensity back up.

Congratulations on getting you date!

5 day pouch test is a great start because it retrains your mind and body.
