    Weight Lost!

There is no need to worry. In the hospital they pump you up with fluids to keep you hydrated. You'll pee it out in the coming days.. I hope you don't actually think you gained 7 pounds of fat in the hospital.

    Social Dinners

    Weight Lost!

Celebrate your 25pd loss. Really who loses 25pds in a month! That's awesome! Just follow your plan. You also may want to take a break from the scale, eventually the weight will come off. Many people face a stall in the 3rd week post op for unknown reasons.

Do you recall what you had from the appetizer menu at 2 months?

    Social Dinners

I'm convinced I have one of the most conservative programs in the country. Even at 3 weeks out im not allowed soup, just broth. My next advance is in 2 weeks. Who knows what they will allow me to eat.

    2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?

I just think I have one of the most conservative programs in the country lol. I won't be approved for meat for 5 weeks. And when I'm cleared I will only be allowed to eat about an ounce.

    2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?

Wow you are allowed to have fish, hummus, and guacamole 2 weeks out. How awesome is that. I would love some fish

    2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?

Different programs just have different rules. But to be 2 weeks out and eating 4oz at a time does seem a little much to me. But im sure the veterans can pitch in. At day 20 im still drinking Protein shakes and now eating two table spoons of food at a time. I think I'm getting in just under 400 calories a day. This is where I'll be for another two weeks.

    2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?

I had the 2 tablespoons of fried beans. I def think i could have had 2 more.

    2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?

I know three weeks out I can handle yogurt. But I told myself pre surgery that I would stick to the plan so I guess I will

    2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?

That doesn't sound right. Yogurt was considered a "full liquid" for the purposes of my diet stages, so I was allowed to have as much of it as I could tolerate. That's what I thought too from reading everyone's responses over these past months. I thought that yogurt would be one of the foods that I could totally eat. But she limited me to 2 tablespoons. I asked again to clarify. She said take two bites of your yogurt and put it back in the fridge.

    2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?

Tonight we'll see. I plan to have 2 tablespoons of refried beans. I've been downing liquids so easily, I guess I feel I can take in more but I really don't know.

    2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?

I guess I get the two tablespoons of beans and eggs. But I can't have a container of yogurt?!? She said take two tablespoons and then put it back in the fridge that would be my dinner. Next week will make a month and I still can't have a small container of yogurt? Ugh I'm so tired of protein shakes I was hoping to replace it with food. But two tablespoons will not get me anywhere near my protein goals.

    I want meat!

I'm 2 weeks out and I cringe every time I have a protein drink.. I just want a nice grilled piece of fish. And a hard boiled egg sounds amazing. I won't be approved for meat until week 5.
  16. At what stages were you allowed Soup. I'm still on the liquid stage so I can only consume broth. But when we you allowed to just fully eat soup with the veggies, meat and all? The cafeteria at my job make different types of yummy Soups. I currently just take the broth out and avoid getting food in my soup. But I can't wait to just eat the whole soup.

Ok Hun Have a good night. Ahhh....choosing to stick with being condescending? That's fine. No skin off my nose. I've no doubt that if you are THIS much of an expert at only two weeks out, you are going to be wildly successful. It's an interesting journey, for sure, and I was definitely surprised at how much my mindset evolved as the months went by, but I'm sure your story will differ greatly from mine. Best of luck to you! I'm looking forward to hearing great things from you. See I told you at 24 months you know it all.

I'm only quoting my surgeons honey. But you are a whole 24 months in so you know best.Goodness, no, not at all. I'm only an expert on ME and my experiences. I, too, am only quoting my surgeons and my experienced along the way. Oh, and please, no need to call me "honey". It sounds so condescending and I'm sure you don't mean it that way. So, you aren't interesting in telling me how long ago you had your surgery? Fair enough. Ok Hun Have a good night.

Sleeves don't stretch. They will relax over time from the initial surgery, but it's not because of soda or carbonation. I've heard from many sources that sleeves can stretch. I don't know for certain, but I was told by my RN that carbonation is never allowed again because it can stretch the sleeve. It's the only thing they said I have to cut out permanently. I've seen experiments on the discovery channel where they put carbonation in a pigs stomach (not attached, after being butchered) and they blew up like a balloon. Makes sense the membrane can stretch over time if blown up too frequently. But I don't know it as fact. You are absolutely right. My multiple doctors told me the same thing. An occasional sip will not have a huge impact. But for those sleevers who drink soda often it will impact their sleeve. But some folks have a sip and go yay I can tolerate soda, which means I can drink it every day.. Before surgery, I could tolerate BBQ ribs doesn't mean I should have it every day. The toleration of bad food/drinks will hurt some folks. Just curious. How far out are you surgically? I'm only quoting my surgeons honey. But you are a whole 24 months in so you know best.

I agree. It's def bad for you. With or without the sleeve diet soda is not good. I assume a few sips won't kill anyone. But since I got it all out of my system what's the point of reincorporating it back into my diet.

A soda a day. My surgeon would never ever recommend that. Nor do I want a soda a day.. But if it works for your plan, no judgement. Phew! Cuz I was totally worried about you judging me. I am almost two years out, made my weight goal quickly and have maintained for over a year. I think it's working for me, my doctor is happy and so is the rest of my medical team. Do you, girlfriend! *sips water*
