McDonald's french fries = the devil

McDonald's FF do the same thing to me. I cant eat them at all! If i want like 2 or 3 and nothing else then they are ok, i guess. lol Having the band really takes all the fun out of fast food, so honestly i dont crave it any more either. Which i am so grateful for, pre-band i was a fast food junkie... -
PB? Worse Experience of My Life!!!
aprilshowers777 replied to StrawartS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would have to say i would do it again 1000X's over! I have had PBing before but not the horrible story that is above. I would be freaked out too! I have been banded 3 years. I have had episodes of what i call "backwards burping" that is the only way i describe it. I had a small set back with my band. i had it loosened and gained. So i am starting over right now. I have been tightened about 2 weeks and i have lost about 10 or so pounds. I have never PB'd and had any kind of gagging to it. I do feel like i am gonna throw up, watering mouth, slimes, etc but never any gagging. I will fight to the death to keep from throwing up! I have had only one PB since getting "re-filled" It was at dinner sunday with my DH's family. I had less than 1/2 small chicken breast, 1/2 sweet potato patty, a bite of cream style corn, and a bite of my roll.... I was SICK i ate WAY too much! I have learned over the few years i have been banded the thing that makes the biggest difference for me and my restricition is drinking while i am eating. If i take a drink with every bite i can almost eat like a normal person. What i have to do to get the full effect from my band/fill is to not drink ANYTHING while i am eating. Eat slow and stop when i start to feel pressure in my chest. I then put my food up and that is it. I don't wait and see if it will go down because i know i will end up defeating the purpose. About the band being fickle it is true. I think though that alot of it with me has to do with textures. Some textures do better than others. I personally can not handle bread, cakes, Cookies, brownies, chips *worst PB of my life* i fought it for about an hour, my chest hurt so bad! Ok well enough rambling... hehehe -
I am now three years post op. Man has alot changed in three years. I cant believe how fast time flies. It really is crazy. I was banded on April 11, 2003. I weighed 235-240 I did awesome listening to the band and working with it. I lost down to 160 and i was feeling awesome! I started dating, met my husband and life was wonderful. I dont know where i started to slide. I started trying to eat more when we went to dinner. I started drinking with my meals and figured out if i drink with them i can eat more. I dont know what happend. I just really wanted to be normal. My husband and i were working out on a very regular basis. Dieting good. (he is into bodybuilding... so he had me eating like i was an athelete...lol) I realized that i was gonna hurt myself and my band if i continuted this way, so i went to the doctor and told them that i really wanted to try it on my own for awhile. Well it took a few minutes of convincing her to do it but finally she did. I ended up moving to Memphis shortly after that. So i was about 5-6 hours away from the doctor. So i didnt go back much. With the move we werent working out like we were. We were eating ALOT of fast food because we were tired and it was easy. I ended up gaining about 35 pounds, from when i had the band loosened... My lowest weight was 160 but after we started working out i gained 10 pounds and i was 170... after my pouch packing and drinking with meals i gained 5... so i was about 175..) So my weight now is 205 ish... I think that in the last few days i have been really reading my old journals and reading everyone elses post and i started following the rules again i am down to 200 now. WOO HOO!! We had a problem getting my adjustment right... I went for three adjustments and she wouldnt put me back where i was so we had to start over adding a little at a time. So I couldn't understand when i was supposed to have a 2.5 fill and i could still eat a WHOLE value meal... So i went back well somewhere along the line there was a mix up and i only had about 1.3cc's in my band. She said my tubing was never accounted for. So we filled that puppy up! LOL it is great now. I feel like i did in the beginning. I am doing well not drinking with my meals. It is just gonna be breaking the habit. I still reach for my drink and i have to stop myself. But things are going GREAT!! I am so excited to finally have the passion and drive that i had when i first had the surgery!

"First Bite Syndrome" ???
aprilshowers777 replied to divaliciousdee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have been banded three years and i have to say that the hiccups have gotten better with time. My BIL used to laugh everytime i had those loud screeching hiccups. So we would all crack up about it. But now i never have them too much. Either that or i have learned how to control them. I dunno. I do still get 'deep' hiccups, just with out the sound effects. lol I am so glad i have discovered this board. I have had a little set back with my band (my own stupidity) I had my band loosened and i gained 35 pounds so now i am starting over. But i am having a blast being able to read with other people with the band are experiencing. It keeps me pumped and motivated!!! It is nice to read some things and be like that is EXACTLY what i have!!! No one IRL understands!! lol thank ya'll :kiss2: -
for me i still wear a 6 or 6.5 but they are alot more comfortable because not so wide... as far as the ring sizes i went from a 9 or 9.5 to a 6.5...woo hoo!!

Hey everyone... I had the lap band surgery 4-11-03 i weighed 235 i lost to 160 felt great loved it but i got to a point that i felt like i was pushing it too much and i thought i was gonna hurt myself, also i wanted to see what i could do on my own as far as losing weight ( i dont know why i thought i could do any good, was i able to lose at ANY of my other attempts?!?!?! i assume it was a moment of temporary insanity!) Anyway here i am starting over. I just had another fill bringing me to 2.0 right now i still feel like i need to be at 2.5 ( i was at 3.2 when i had it all removed) The depressing part is that i gained about 20 pounds!!! Now i need help remembering all the rules so i can start over and lose this again! ARRRGHHHHH!!!! i cant believe i did this to myself!!!!! I would love if yall could tell me the rules again, i cant find my papers... i need help getting back to the 'obsessed bandster' i used to be..... april dr thomas lavin 235/160/122 (was my old stats...) i now weigh 197 www.whyweight.com
