Invest in the padded gel biking shorts. They are worth every penny. I have two pairs since they need to be washed by hand. ~LA

Currently I am doing Insanity Max. I love it because it's only 30 min. They also have a modifier track. I am not going to lie sometimes I am the modifier to the modiefier I also have Focus T25, P90X and P90X3, and regular Insanity. Oh yeah I have Piyo and it's ok I might do it once a week to get some yoga in. I get up early in the morning and do my workouts at home. I also use Shakeology in the morning with frozen strawberries and blueberries in it. Love it and I am not even a beachbody coach. ~LA

So id like to share with you, how much you can change.
SeahawksFan replied to Stevehud's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Fantastic Job Steve. I know some people think this is the easy way out but I think we all realize it is about the choices you make everyday. What you eat and working out. You have made some great choices!! ~LA -

butt is killing me when sitting
SeahawksFan replied to jushyd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
OMG hilarious because I have the same problem. Also when I ride my Harley now my butt is so sore. I actually do a lot of squats as part of Insanity and I take Spin but my butt is still flat. I think it might also be an age thing (I am 45) Good luck- LA -
I did 2 weeks of 40 grams or less of carbs everyday. Wasn't hard at all but I did lose 10 lbs in two weeks and my liver was fine. ~LA

I had a BMI of 31 and I was self pay. I did the roller coaster diet thing for so many years I finally decided to do it and I don't regret it at all. I did a 2 week low carb diet required by my doc before the surgery and lost 10 lbs so I was only 29.5 BMI when I had it done on Oct. 30 and I pretty much met my goal in 4 months. I also didn't tell anyone. Only my husband and one friend because I didn't want to hear the speech about how I didn't need it and everything else that goes with that. I am a size 0P now and couldn't be happier. I no longer need my sleep apnea machine and my back and joints feel so much better. I also had the hernia repair done while he was in there and my insurance paid for that. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have. BTW I am only 5"1 so losing 45 is a lot for someone my size and I am 45. Good luck- LA

The Best NSV yet! 45 years later...
SeahawksFan replied to B-52's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wonderful story. No one needs to know you had WLS. You followed a strict diet and exercised. You stuck to a plan and followed it. Way to go. ~LA -
Glad your better. Now you know to get those liquids in. I had to learn the hard way with a trip to the ER. (3 bags of IV) ~LA

How long was your pre-op diet?
SeahawksFan replied to smilingsarahjo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My preop diet was relatively easy except that I was on vacation in Disneyland for a week of it. It was 2 weeks low carb under 40 grams a day. My BMI was 31 so I was actually worried about losing to much weight as my surgeon office requires a BMI of 30. But my surgeon was great and reassured me that I had already qualified. Good thing as I lost 10 lbs in two weeks and it put me around 29 BMI. Good luck a 4 week liquid diet sounds hard especially since that's pretty much what you do after the surgery. ~LA -
If it is to be it's up to me! Love the list ~LA

At Starbucks I used to love to get the chicken and Hummus box but they are no longer selling it. I am so bummed. I do still get the Protein Box and then they also have a cheese and fruit option. And for Breakfast I still get the oatmeal. I am probably one of the only people that eats oatmeal for breakfast every other day but it helps keep me regular so I am ok with the carb intake. I also love the Panera turkey chili and made a knock off of it last weekend. They don't sell it year round so I made up a big crockpot batch and put 3/4 of it in small containers to freeze. I love everyone's suggestions. We just got a Chick fila in WA and I haven't tried it yet. It's good to know there's something I can eat as I also have kids and frequent fast food restaurants more because of them. ~LA

I used to never do yoga because I felt like it was a waste. I mean if I am going to invest 45 min - an hour I need to sweat and burn calories. But now that I am 45 I do it at least once or twice a week. It really helps balance all the high intensity and high impact with stretching and balance. I really enjoy it now. It makes me feel so much better. I still haven't bought into to the meditation and relaxation part. Good luck- LA

for those already sleeved
SeahawksFan replied to erose321's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel totally the same. In fact the first month I used to have dreams (nightmares) that I forgot I was sleeved and ate potato chips. Ahhh in reality I never did and was totally fine. But to answer your questions you will not be able to tell. ~LA -
Are you able to get in any exercise? Every month I change up my exercise routine to avoid plateaus. ~LA

Wow that is horrible. I am praying you get better soon. Please keep us posted. ~LA

Straws or no straws?
SeahawksFan replied to drmeow's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My nutritionist said it was fine after 2 months. I like my Water with Ice and a straw. I drink it much faster and more often. I am 5 months out and doing great. ~LA -
