I lost 13lbs on the pre-op diet. My surgery was 12/7/07. I've lost 66lbs since surgery. Sounds like you are doing great so far!

I eat regular/full fat mayo, sour cream, cheese and salad dressing. I also haven't used any artificial sweetener. I've been able to lose 77lbs in 8 months. I'm sure as I get closer to goal I will have to switch to continue to lose but for now it's working for me. My cholesterol went from 263 down to 116 since being banded as well.

Zeta, so far so good. I've only had 1 fill so far and that was on 2/13/08. As of right now I've lost about 47lbs (13 pre-op). I was afraid when I went for my first fill my port was going to be flipped from bending and stuff too soon after surgery. Luckily it wasn't! My first fill was pretty easy. Going back for a visit tomorrow. I don't know if I want another fill yet. I'm restricted as far as what I can eat but I'm still hungry between meals. I think I'll wait a few more weeks or a month before my next fill unless things change in the meantime. Looks like you are doing really well. Keep up the good work!

Hi Zeta, I'm from Waycross. I was banded by Dr. Henderson (Brunswick) on 12/7/07.

My situation is a little different. I have ALWAYS loved milk but now I think about it all the time. I picture myself gulping down 2 huge glasses in one sitting. I try to limit my milk to about 1/4 glass in the morning and 1/4 in the evening to take my allergy medicine. It keeps me from drinking a whole gallon in one sitting, LOL. I thought it was just me, glad to see others understand my pain! I was banded 12/7/07 and have lost 43lbs so far (13 pre-op). I've had one fill on 2/13/08.

Hi All. I have been lurking and reading for sometime now but finally registered today. What a great group of people! :biggrin1: I was asked by my surgeon's office today to get a "note from my PCP stating she has seen me for at least the past year regarding morbid obesity." Has anyone else been asked to provide something like this? This note and proof that I've been overweight for at least 3 years is all that is keeping me from insurance approval. Has anyone else had to provide anything along these lines? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
