Does anyone else feel like this is going slower than you thought?
AJP1243 replied to Carriewhite's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know exactly how you feel. I really wish I would wake up and be at least 20 pounds lighter. I started the gym last week and I seem to have slowed down with losing. I want to at least see a change. I can only see change in pictures but not when I look in the mirror. I hope this changes and when I reach my year I can look back and be like it worked I'm where I need to be. -

Thank you all. I have started out slow but my energy keeps me only at the gym for about 30-40 mins. I am nervous about the weight machines that my gym has. They are so intimidating. I feel like everyone is staring at the fat girl trying to use the machines. Even though I have lost 45 pounds. It is a mental thing just need to get over it. Hahaha

Thank you. I feel like I look like I'm lost when I'm at the gym. Your suggestions seem right up my alley!

What is your gym routine looking like. I am 7 weeks out. (SD 12/15) Can someone give me a 45 min gym routine. Example 15 mins exercise bike 10 min rowing machine. Ect. I need like a play by play. I went to the gym today and some lady was lifting very heavy weights and walking with them. I can't do that yet. So any help is much needed. Thanks in advance!

I know that it won't be instant but about what time will I notice a change. When will I be able to buy smaller clothes. I am a month and a week out and I can notice my pants are loose but not to the point where a smaller size will fit. From personal experiences can anyone give me a tiny time line or a glimpse of what I can expect. I know everyone is different. I am following everything my dr tells me to a T. Surgery date 12/15/14. Thanks in advance.

December Surgery Thread - we rock!
AJP1243 replied to bellabloom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you eat and drink together it can stretch out your pouch. It can also push the food down to fast and cause dumping and also cause the nutrients to go away. These are some not all of the reasons we can't eat and drink at the same time. This may be one of the reasons you are losing slower. May not be but it could be. -

I finally got my staples out yesterday the 8th. They were in for 3 and a half weeks. I am sore from them being taken out. I have lost 32 pounds including pre diet. Surgery date 12/15. I gained 3 pounds it was 35 pounds lost but I finally got my water down so it is water weight added. I have put my scale away and will see it again Feb 8. Everyone seems to be doing great. On our way to greatness.

Is 3 1/2 weeks too long for staples?
AJP1243 replied to AJP1243's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So far I am doing good. Thank you. I felt like the only one with staples even though I knew I really wasnt. I am having problems with getting in enough water. I am trying so hard and feel like I am drinking all day. It will get better. Thank you for your reply. Merry Christmas and hope everything continues to go great for you and you get your protein in as well -
Is 3 1/2 weeks too long for staples?
AJP1243 replied to AJP1243's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I was done that way. I have 5 Incisions. 3 of them are very small but he managed to get 3 in each. I was told in the hospital by the nurses that I did not have staples. I found out when I went home and took the dressing off the next day. I called my dr and he didn't remember putting staples in. To be fair I hope he was at home and didn't have my chart I front of him. The only reason they will be in that long is cause he won't be available next week so I have to wait till the following week. My primary Dr said he wouldn't take them out today because we both thought my appointment would be next week. I have to just wait and see. If they get too bad I will go to my primary and ask again. Thank you for your response as well. -

Is 3 1/2 weeks too long for staples?
AJP1243 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have staples in every incision. My dr won't be in on my 2 week post op so I have to wait the following week. The receptionist said when I asked will it be alright to wait that long she said " you should be fine". I don't like the should part. I have never had staples before so I am just wondering if anyone here might have had them in this long. -
