Today I started my pre op diet. Lets just say I am not happy. I am so hungry. I have had so much liquid my stomach hurts. My head head has started to hurt. But, I am one day down and one day closer. I am unsure as to what type of diet I am to be on so I have to call my DR. I did an entire liquid diet asides from 1 bite of chicken and downing down an entire cucumber 20 mins ago. Hope he will let me have one protein meal a day.

I have the EAS vanilla and it too tastes like cake batter. At first I thought it was weird, but now I think I could pour it in a bowl and use a spoon to get through the mental part of having no real food for a while.

Everything will go great! My EGD was a breeze. I have not had my surgery yet I get that next monday! I am unbelievably nervous but I know I will come out stronger then ever. I start today with my pre op diet. I am being very strict with this so that my liver shrinks to the size it needs to be. I am very excited and hope all goes well for you on Tuesday and Friday. So nervous! My pre op diet has begun 6 mins ago and I was not prepared mentally. Hahaha I know I know six mins. I didn't take the last hour before finishing my soda which I will have trouble giving up but I will. I am sad. Hoping to get through this week very fast. How fast did it go by for others I wonder? Was it quick the final week or slow as can be?

So far I have got away with not having to tell them anything. But my one manager will probably ask because that is the type of person she is. Very nosey so she can gossip about people. -

This is so funny to me because I was thinking of telling work I have that too. -
I am on the 15th as well. I am so worried I start my pre op diet on monday. I feel bad for whining or being nervous about 7 days when most have to do 2 weeks. I wish i was one of the people who only had to do the day or 2 prior. It is getting so real. I finally watched a you tube video of an entire sleeve surgery. It was amazing I suggest anyone who can stomach it to watch. It was Interesting to know what it entails from start to finish.

My doctor said he was going to do an open sleeve surgery, but when I got approved from my insurance it said approved for lyposcopic. Does this mean he changed his mind or did they just say this to the insurance and just going to go through with the open. I would call but it is the weekend and just want opinions if someone else had this happen as well. Thanks in advance!

Did Dr. Amin say he would do tour surgery open instead of laproscopic? He told me this but my insurance approved laproscopic gastric sleeve. So i am unsure if he changed his mind or if he sends that to the insurance instead of saying open to get the approval. -

Hello, I am Amanda I am from St Mary's and my Dr. Is Amin. I have been trying to get reviews on him but have had no luck. Was he a good Dr. My surgery date is Dec. 15 and I just want to see how others faired with him. I like him so far but he has only been in practice for 13 years and that worried me a little but not too much. Any insight would be much appreciated. -

Oh i hope he tries. The thought of him doing open scares me. Though I hope that as a Dr. He would want to do the safest method possible. I am not a a dr. So i do not know which way is safest. I trust him though. I just, not to be vain, don't want all the sagging skin and a giant long scar as well. Thank you for the help! -

Oh my it is getting so close! I wish I was not so nervous and it is not about the surgery so much but I just hope I don't get sick because of the weather so close to my surgery day! -
I had read some where else someone had the same issue. She realized that she had not gone to the bathroom in a few days. She had to take a softener to help and she started losing again. Not sure if this will help you but just a suggestion.

Congrats! I start my 7 day pre-op diet on the 8th. Then I have surgery on the 15th. The Anesthesiologist ' s office called to go over some things. It is getting super close but now it seems to be slowing down. I hope that's not the case during my 7 days cause I don't know if I will make it. But I will do my best. -

I am new here and my surgery date is December 15 at 730 AM. I am so nervous and excited at the same time. Maybe it would not be a bad thing to find a buddy since no one I know knows what I am feeling or going through. -
