Do any of you eat those frozen entres like lean cuisine , if so what ones please?
maggie0210 replied to Homecie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The healthy choice cafe streamers are tasty and have a decent amount of protein. They also make dinners called baked. The turkey bake is my favorite. Some smart ones are also good. Trial and error! Your'e doing great so far. Have a great holiday season and enjoy your new journey! -
What is the purpose of eating slow
maggie0210 replied to brown eyed gal's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Brown eyed gal, I believe if you chew your food slowly and eat slowly, you won't overfill the stomach. Also drinking 30 mins before or after is so you have room for your protein and absorb the nutrients. Otherwise the liquid will take up too much room in your pouch. Hope that helps a little. -

My new life -Postop
maggie0210 replied to bigbattynatty's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Natalie, You are doing so great! I know your health conditions will resolve in a few more months. My diabetes went away, so did other issues. In my post-op classes they all have said no more sleep apnea, diabetes etc.... This is a life saving procedure and your'e still so young that you have done it at the right time. I wish I had done it years ago. But I was scared. I wish you a happy and thin new year and merry Christmas. You have given yourself the best present ever. -
Judy, Welcome, and you are doing great so far. You will see results soon. You are still healing. Don't exercise without your doctors okay. You are going to be so amazed at how fast it comes off in a few weeks. Just be patient. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Six months out you will see a BIG difference. You will definitely be in a much smaller size. Great luck to you!

When should I start working out?
maggie0210 replied to mary1973's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since it's different for everyone how fast they heal, your surgeon is the only one qualified to answer this. Sounds like you are doing a great job so far. Don't push the healing process. -
Lower back pain 4 days post op
maggie0210 replied to PrincessDeb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would keep an eye on it this weekend. If it gets better you will be fine. But if it's still bothering you or gets worse by Monday, make sure to call your surgeons office first thing. Don't put up with any debilitating pain. -

maggie0210 replied to PenguinLovex8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are in a dangerous situation. You will dehydrate quickly. And maybe pull stitches. If you can't see your doctor, go to the hospital, NOW. You have to take good care of yourself, you have had major surgery. Good luck. I hope you are fine. Out us know. -

Maureen, I'm not in the same spot, but I was a year ago on December 5th. You are going to go through so many changes, all for the better. I have gone from a size 26 to a size 6. Seem to have leveled off. Hope the best for you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. -
You look wonderful. What a pretty dress. Congratulations on all the work you have done. You should be so very proud! And you might not even be done yet.

maggie0210 replied to Jennifer Newman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Jennifer, Welcome and congratulations on your decision. A lot of info on this site, but try to not read all negative comments. Mostly good comes from this. I know the struggle you have been through. Iv'e been there myself, and know I positively would do this all over. A lot of good things are coming your way, enjoy! -
Brokenangel, How are you doing so far? Hope all is well. Your'e going to feel so much better. How was your birthday? Next year you can have a tiny bit of cake! Take care and feel better.

No health problems apart from obesity, is surgery right?
maggie0210 replied to Amina's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm so happy your'e doing better. It's a great idea to avoid the negative. There are so many happy outcomes out there. Listen to those. My surgeon said it has become so popular for health reasons that there few complications. I would use your name, but my stupid tablet keeps adding a L to it! Here from you soon, take care. maggie0210 replied to TheProfessor's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I need some help. I can't post anything. I can enter a title, but it won't let me enter anything else. Only have a tablet, no smart phone. It's just a rca tablet, nothing fancy. Tried asking on other places, no answers. Could you email me if you can help? Probably won't be able to find this spot again. Not tech savvy at all! sarahlynn458@gmail.com -

Can anyone help me? I can't post anything. It will let me enter a title but will not let me type anything in the field. I only have a tablet, no smart phone, is this why? I would be grateful for any help. Not very tech savvy. -

First post op battle of the cold season help?
maggie0210 replied to athena3127's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry that your'e sick. That sucks. But get your liquids in or dehydration will set in. Take care under some fluffy warm blanket! Myself, I tried zinc one year and it took away my sense of taste for about 2 weeks. So be careful of having too much of that. Well wishes on the way! -
No health problems apart from obesity, is surgery right?
maggie0210 replied to Amina's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had the bypass one year ago. I wanted the sleeve, but insurance refused to cover. So I had to research the bypass and went with that. I think you should listen to your surgeon, but then make your case for what you want and why. You deserve to have your input, it's your body. So I hope you are happy with whatever you choose. And you may not have health issues now, but eventually it will catch up with you. I still snack, but much different than in the past. Fruit, nuts or seeds, any protein. Once in awhile I have a slice of bread or pasta, but portion control is key here. You have to learn to eat properly all over again. You will do fine, whichever you choose. -
need advice in regards to vitamins
maggie0210 replied to hopeful paki's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I use the Opurity chewable. I know there are others, did you check with your nutrionist? The Opurity are a little tart for some, but you don'e have to swallow so it's easier for me. Also, you can check this site for more info and choices - bariatricchoice.com - there are a lot of kinds there. Hope this helps. -
Vane1383, Glad I could help. You have a great outlook and will do great.

I was very addicted to coke, drank 2 liters a day. Only stopped for 2 week diet. Wish I had stopped sooner. But I have a hard time passing the aisle in the grocery store. Tried a little bit a few times, the carbonation hurts your stomach. So get rid of it now. The sooner the better!
