Is it wrong to tell a white lie???

Just jump throught the hoops, probably isn't as hard as you think and get moving on bandland. Good Luck.

Go 4 It!!! You only live once.

Is it do able all by myself?

Absolutely this is do-able. 5 year olds love to help. Set her up with crafts, and movies in the same room as you. She will love to be your nurse. Get some snacks she can do herself, juice boxes/ water bottles she can get out of the fridge herself. She will be in heaven getting to be your caretaker. If you are on the couch and she is on the coffee table you can doze and still keep an eye on her. Don't worry about mess, you can fix that in a few days, just let her think she is your helper. She will love it!!

No all you will do at the orientation is learn the difference between the roun Y and Lapand. He explains nutrition, healing, difference in the 2 surgeries, ect. He will not look at any paperwork that you have until your consultation. This is just a class to show you what you are getting into. Very informational.

    feeling cheated

As long as your happy with your success who cares what others think or say. You have to be proud of yourself not wait around for others to be proud of you. Keep up the good work!!!
  10. Well I don't know about the rest of you but I have so much snow I can't get out to go to the gym, much less go for a walk or run. So my solution DDR (DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION) Some of you have got to have kids with a video game system. Go to Wal Mart or wherever you can go to buy video games and invest in this. I got the Disney version and a dance pad for $50.00. What a workout!!! It is so fun and my kids love it too. Even DH had to give it a try, what a hoot!!! It even has a workout built in that will tell you calories burnt ect. Way worth the investment we are hooked.

    Dr. Trotter's Group

Hey Ari, I say suck it up...lol maybe he can get you in next week, I am going in on the 7th, so is Deb. That would give you a week to adjust. Or just wait and get on it when you get home. I would be bummer to not feel good on your trip. Maybe more shakes, less solids for a couple of days to jump start yourself? Just some ideas. Lisa

Well technically you are obese, I did not have any comorbidities and a bmi of 39.5. I had been trying to lose weight for years and my Dr. new it so that in itself is why I went to see Dr. Trotter. I was approved for insurance without any problems.

The meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of every month @ 6:00p.m. in the downstairs of Holy Family Hospital on the N. side of Spokane. Go up Division take a right on Rowan and you are there. Just go in the main visitor door and down the elevator you will see signs pointing you in the right direction. If you tell us what night your husband is coming I will bring mine too so he will not be the only guy there and we can direct the meeting towards information to the family of the lapband patient. Hope to meet you soon! Lisa

Hi Heidi, I hear group health is a hard ins. to deal with. We just talked about it at our support group this month. Depending on your policy and if it covers bariatrics. If it does then you will have a better chance. With your BMI that will help and if you have co morbidities it helps too. No you cannot feel the port inside of you. It does not get in the way of activity. You can feel it with your fingers if you feel the port sight. A fill is when they add to the band to tighten it up as you lose weight around your stomach area inside. It took me about 2 months from start to finish with the ins. and evals.. A pb is when you don't chew enought and you burp food back up without stomach acid as it is to big to fit through the port. (hasn't happened to me) We have support group the 2nd Tuesday of each month. I know it is quite a drive but it is very informative and would answer a lot of your questions in one meeting. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call and talk, I would love to hear from you . Lisa (509)981-5696
