    Weight loss stalls

hey there lenora! I'm in the same boat. I'm 4 weeks out, and i completely stopped losing weight. I actually gained 2 pounds. but i'm still barely eating. i'm probably getting in 600 calories, 45 ish grams of Protein and yet the scale is stuck! i'm hoping at my appt in 2 weeks i can start the gym again and maybe that will help --- but i'm not sure if i even have enough energy for that

Oh I think I'm gonna be sick...

girl, you're gonna do great. just think in a month where you'll be!
  3. Hi All! I'm coming up on 4 weeks post op (Tuesday) and I wanted to check in with you all and see how you're doing! What kind of stuff were you eating at 4 weeks? Today is the first time after my surgery I got sick. I was ambitious and didn't mush up my salmon. One bite and I was a goner.
  4. I'm 22 and got the bypass on the 16th of December. I had the same mentality thinking I could do it on my own because I was still young. But I ended up realizing that the amount of weight I needed to lose to be healthy was something I couldn't do on my own.
  5. I'm scheduled for the bypass on 12/16! I'm worried my recovery is gonna be tough because I moved away from all my family and friends when I graduated college this spring to start a new job. I'm pretty excited though. I've tried getting the surgery twice but because of insurance or timing it didn't work out. Third times the charm

    Gastric Bypass VS Sleeve

I chose the bypass for two major reasons: The dumping syndrome would hold me accountable to make better eating choices anytime I put something in my body. The bypass has a longer history and more years of data to back up scientific claims. The sleeve may work just as well, or better, but the bypass has results of patients dating more than 10 years back.

Dec 30 rny and still in pain?

I had a lot of pain for two weeks after surgery. It takes time... hang in there!!
  8. Happy New Year everyone! I have a quick question about pureed food. I really haven't been eating too much, and to be honest I haven't taken ANY vitamins since my surgery on the 16th of Dec. It's my new years resolution to start taking them regularly. Since I'm on the pureed stage now - i was wondering if I could eat pureed potatoes. I've been staying away from dense carbs, so I haven't tried mashed potatoes - but the binder they gave me recommends it. Thoughts?
  9. I was discharged after 24 hours, I'm wondering if that's normal. The post op pain has only slightly gotten better by today (day 5) and I'm wondering if it's because i left the hospital so soon. How long were you there?
  10. Hi All! Merry Christmas I'm having issues with the liquid diet. I'm not really eating much, probably getting in less than ten grams of Protein a day. I'm starting to feel tired and dizzy from lack of eating. I'm trying my bed to drink Water all the time but it's just been so tough! Any one else struggling with this? It seems impossible Two big questions: 1. When did you start scrambled eggs. I think I'd get in way more protein if I could scramble up some egg whites. 2. Fruits! I know that fruits are high in sugar so having too much is a no no. But I was thinking of making a smoothie with strawberries and apples. Thoughts?
  11. Can barely move, can't sleep at all. In SO much pain. I was discharged about 28 hours after my operation and I think it was way to soon. This is legit unbearable, it's making me regret this entire surgery it hurts so badly. How long till this pain stops? I could really use some encouragement. I'm feeling super helpless and I scream in pain every time i move.

    Mental breakdown

@@krisstep I totally feel what you're feeling. Last night I straight up sobbed because I was in pain and so uncomfortable I couldn't find a decent sleeping position. I'm anxious about when I'll finally feel normal. I am barely eating/drinking so I'm exhausted too. Let alone I keep having to get up (which HURTS) to walk around every now and then. I just keep remember this is all for a bigger reason. I am 6 Days post op and I have lost 10 pounds since the day of my surgery already. Feel free to reach out to me if you want to rant! I understand how you feel and am kind of embarrassed how of often I'm crying. But I think it's also a lot of pent up stress that is now releasing itself because the surgery already happened.
  13. how is your pain/energy? what are you eating?
  14. How much weight have you lost? And I sleep on my stomach too! How to you make sure you don't roll onto it in the middle of the night?

  16. I'm feeling super unmotivated. I'm getting the surgery on the 16th and have been doing the pre surgery liquid diet for the past few days. I'm having about 800 calories a day, mostly from premium Protein shakes and sugar free pudding or skim milk. 2 out of the 4 days I went to the gym and worked out on the elliptical for an hour. And somehow I've gained two pounds. It's so frustrating! Is this normal? If I don't lose weight will they cancel my surgery?

    Pre-Surgery Diet - Gained Weight?!

Thanks for the advice I'm really nervous about them canceling or rescheduling my surgery. I'm getting the surgery done where my parents live so I can have a support system while I recover. I've had to coordinate flights and getting time off work so I guess I'm just anxious that the timing will mess it up.
