Are any of you on Twitter? I'm looking for WLS buddies to follow. I'm @KylieD87

I'm two weeks post-op and just got weighed at my PCP. I'm down 20 pounds and I still can't believe it. Ahhhh! ????

My surgery is on Monday, December 15 and I have tickets to a hockey game on December 18. Is it feasible that if I don't have any complications, get out in time, and get lots of rest, I'll still be able to go to the game? I know everyone is different, but I'd like somewhat of an idea of what I can expect. Thanks!

Did anyone detox from caffeine before surgery? I know we're not supposed to have caffeine after surgery, so I'm worried about withdrawal headaches.
-
Thank you! I'm honestly so surprised how good I feel. On Tuesday, I never expected to be able to go. I'm feeling better every day. Hopefully I continue to.

I made it to the game! Feeling great today. Besides soreness and some gas pain, I feel like myself. Even did a little shopping at Target beforehand. I feel super lucky that I'm not overly tired (yet).

Hi, Djmohr! I'm feeling better every day. Besides the gas pain and soreness, I feel great! Going to rest today and see how I feel for the game later. As of right now, I definitely feel up to going.

I'm feeling pretty good. I definitely expected awful fatigue, but so far, some resting and naps keep me going throughout the day. I haven't ruled out the hockey game tomorrow night until how I get an idea of how I'm feeling tomorrow during the day.

Has anyone tried the Gas X strips? Wondering if they work. Also, any chewable vitamins you'd recommend?
-
Thanks, Trish! My discharge nurse told me to measure and time everything I drink so that I don't get too full, and ultimately vomit. That's where my question stems from.
-
Who has tried the Gas X strips? Do they work well?

The same incision on me hurts. I don't really have pain from my other incisions. The pillow tip definitely kept me comfortable in the hospital.

Another question for vets. I just had bypass on Monday... This sounds like a silly question, but what does feeling full feel like after bypass? So far, I can't distinguish between gas pain and fullness. I've been sipping liquids all day, so will I just stay full?

How are you feeling?

How's everyone feeling? Yesterday was rough, but I'm much better today.

Yesterday was pretty rough, but I'm 100% better today. Going home later this morning.

How's everyone feeling? I must say, I'm feeling pretty fantastic, all things considered.

Thanks, MisR! I'm so excited.

I feel like a kid on Christmas. I woke up well before my alarm and couldn't go back to sleep. I report at 8 and have surgery at 10. Good luck to everyone starting their journey today! Sending love, prayers, and good vibes your way. ❤

Don't forget to take a "before" photo and measurements today! I did my photo last night.

I'll be thinking of all of you tomorrow that will be starting your journey at the same time as me. I'm so thankful for this supportive community!

Thanks, Amy. I'm definitely just being optimistic and won't push to go. My mom has bad knees, so our seats are on the ADA platform and we take an elevator almost right to them, so it's much more of a relaxing experience than most other seats. We have comfy, padded seats and no one climbs over us. Even better, it's the cheapest seat in the place! ???? All that being said, I'm not naïve enough to think this isn't a major deal and know I mostly likely won't feel like going. Just wanted to get as much info as possible so I have an idea of what to expect. I appreciate all of the feedback from you vets!

Good luck! I'm at 10.

@brokenangel84: I'm doing well! Tomorrow I'm on liquids, then my surgery is at 10 am on Monday. My surgeon said it should take about two hours.
