The best advice I got from a close friend was to use short firm answers, don't explain yourself, don't justify your decisions, just be firm and confident. Eventually they get the message. Big hugs... -
What did you do while waiting for surgery?

I've read a lot of reviews about the surgeon my MD has referred me to, and a lot of them said he requires you to lose 10% of your weight before you can start the bariatric surgery process. Did your surgeon have a similar requirement? What diet did you do while waiting? -

Can you choose your goal weight or does it choose you?
nolongerhere replied to nolongerhere's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks... I'm having a hard time figuring out how that works cause it seems like with having a smaller stomach you can't adjust the amount of food you eat... so I guess you adjust what you're eating? Does that mean people start adding carbs/sugar during maintenance? What does maintenance look like? -

That doesn't really answer my question... I want to know if you just keep losing and losing until there's nothing left to lose, or can you adjust your diet to maintain when you're done losing? -

What do you do for work? If you're on your feet/walking for 11 hours straight, I'd say you are exercising... If it's a desk job, I recommend one of those desk cycles that fits under the desk... work and exercise at the same time! A person only has so many hours in a day...
