Does weight loss usually plateau at some point?
HappyinHollywood replied to Iowa_summergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel your pain! 6 weeks post op and have been stalled for almost 3 weeks. Going to nutritionist Friday to help me with this crisis. I'm working out 6 days a week to boot. From what I've read it's normal. -

HappyinHollywood replied to jblgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 weeks out and have had salad already, in fact today! Spring mix and soft tomatoes. No carrots or cucumbers because it's too hard to digest. Have a boiled egg or tuna. .yum! -
Post op help needed - hunger

It is acid in the stomach. Doc told me to take Prilosec 14 day dose and a tablespoon of Maalox at bedtime. It will pass, trust me, been there! -
Mexico was my blessing for those looking for answers as to why and where
HappyinHollywood replied to Granddaddy's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hello from South Florida! So happy to hear you had a wonderful experience in Mexico. My niece and I had surgery in Cancun November 21st. We too had a great experience. We were impressed by team at Victoria Hospital. Dr Perez was absolutely wonderful. The hospital was beyond clean and we wanted for nothing. I don't regret my decision having the surgery in Mexico one bit. A friend of mine referred me as well as 15 others who are beyond happy. Best of luck to the new you! -
My First Upset Stomach Episode

Remember the 30 min rule ...no fluid 30 min before or after eating. Eat slowly, that way you'll prevent yourself from over eating. -
Dry Hair, Hair Loss, Too Slow Weight Loss
HappyinHollywood replied to BarnGirlWK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Holy Moly! I know how you're feeling. I'm 6 weeks out so far I've lost 25 lbs. I'm not complaining about that but as I've mentioned a prior post,I've stalled for two weeks. I exercise 6 days a week. I've upped my protein 60 grm. Yesterday, I thought I had a break, only to find that I've gained a pound over night then mid morning I weighed and gained another pound? !! What? ! So..with my rant aside, I've decided to go to a dietitian who has knowledge with bariatric patients. As for your hair , I haven't experienced that yet but from what I've read vitamins are important, especially iron. I take (Liquid plant forced iron) try upping your Biotin to 5000 mcg a day. I also take liquid vitamins and minerals, fish oil and liquid calcium. Bluebonnet chocolate protein is delicious and not thick. Best of luck to you on your journey! -
So overwhelmed...
HappyinHollywood replied to Luann919's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! Sounds like you're doing great! Your feeling exactly what I've been feeling. The old self is trying to make you doubt. Each day that passes you're closer to a new you. take it one day at a time...make healthy food selections and try to walk. You won't fail. I've found that taking liquid iron (plant forced) and calcium is better for me and also absorbs better. Stay the course, the hardest part is behind you! You're a winner! ! -
Feeling discouraged
HappyinHollywood replied to jblgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was 11/21 I've lost 25 lbs. Haven't lost a pound in two weeks. I just upped my protein drinks to two a day. Not sure if lack of protein has anything to do with it or not. I exercise every day too. They say you'll stall, fingers crossed it's not a permanent stall! -
Same problem. I'm Chewing Gummie fiber from Costco and taking stool softener as well. Need to drink more water if at all possible.

PROTEIN SHAKES
HappyinHollywood replied to CDenney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good question BLERDgirl, looking at the label it says no artifical sweeteners, flavors and no sugar added. 26 grams of protein per serving. 125 cal per serving. 1.5 gram of sugar (It does contain stevie extract! ) Yeast , gluten , barley & rice free. Hope this helps! I really like it.: ) -

HappyinHollywood replied to stacyamanda32's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What the heck? I'm 6 weeks out, lost 25lbs but haven't lost a pound in two weeks. I'm walking 3 miles everyday and eating no carbs. Drinking one protein shake a day, should I have more? I'm having the dreaded "what if's" this is it! I'm so happy that I've had the surgery but wondering what I'm doing wrong? I'm grateful I've lost 25 but need to loose 50 more to be at my ideal weight. Any input would be appreciated.! -
PROTEIN SHAKES
HappyinHollywood replied to CDenney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I absolutely love Bluebonnet chocolate flavored whey protein. It's not thick mixed with Almond breeze unsweetened milk. You can purchase it at certain health food stores or order on line. It's all natural, which is important. You don't want any hidden hormones or chemicals in it which I've found to be quite common in most. -
Cold Feet For Surgery
HappyinHollywood replied to Pac-woman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 days out from surgery (10lbs down) and I can tell you, I was feeling the same way . The actual surgery it's self really wasn't all that painful, for me, it was the anesthesia, which can make some feel nauseous. Don't listen to the negative thoughts, have faith , pray and push through it, you can do it! As 2015 approaches a healthier and happier you is waiting and saying , Happy New.. Me!
