I read about your suggestion page but thought I would post here to get help quickly. Am I missing a page that tells you how to do everything? Like, post a personal message or find members without going through all the pages?

Just curious. Once you get your sweet spot, why do you have to go back for a fill? What happens to the saline?

I am in the beginning of my journey and worry about having a sagging stomach. I started at 222 lbs. 5'5'', The majority of my weight is in my stomach. I plan to lose down to 145. That will be a 77 lb. weight loss. Is there anyone that lost that much and DID NOT have to have a tummy tuck?

How long have you had your band and are you still happy?
SueSue replied to Beka's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You bet I am happy. Best thing I have ever done. -
I also cannot figure out how to move my ticker tape weight loss number. Am I just a dummie or what?

Any dog lovers? I love all animals too. I saw a 3 month old English Bull Dog yesterday. Oh my goodness. I believe that is the cutest puppy I have ever seen. I have 3 Pekingese myself and a cat. Our cat is 16 years old and seems just fine. Animals make me feel happy. They love you so much.

It sure is different for everyone and i did not know that going into this process. I am 8 weeks out from surgery, I have had two fills and neither has given me restriction yet but I have lost 25 lbs. so far. I can eat anything, I can drink carbonated drinks, but I eat much less. I do not feel it going down. I have gotten stuck several times and spit up twice. Most of the time the stuck piece works it way down. I can feel it the minute it does down. I am losing slowly but I guess that is okay. I go for my third fill next week and expect more restriction.

I am not sure how to do this website real well yet but thought it would interesting for people to tell what dr. did their banding. Some people might find others that have been banded in their area. I found one already and I am surprised. Give your dr. name, city and state if you don't mind.

Marieze, would you mind emailing me personally. I have something I want to tell you and I do not know how to send a message to just you.

Okay, I am going to risk opening up some advice from oldies but I like straightforward talk...I think. I got banded Sept. 25. A friend had it done first and told me about it. She is having great sucess. I am diabetic and was uncontrolled at the time. I was sick. I was sleeping all the time and had given up on life pretty much. (My blood sugar was 150 morning of surgery and went up to 416 during surgery so food was not my only reason for high readings.) I went to a seminar, talked to my friend and it sounded like it was for me. I lost 13 week one, 18 lbs. by week 2 and then slowed down to a total of 24 by week 8. I am able to eat more than I should be able to eat and I think about food and get hungry quicker than I should. I got this surgery knowing it was not a miracle but to help cut down my eating. Now I am at week 8 and have not lost anything in 3 and a half weeks. I have been in for 2 fills and neither has helped tighten me up yet. Yeah, I am a litle discouraged at this point. My doctor does blind fills. I have not been good at juding if I am tight or not when he does it. In fact, last time I felt nausious during the fill and light headed. I had to get up to gag, thought I was going to throw up but nothing came up. I keep telling myself the next fill will help. Is this something some of you have experienced?

I just saw bandit was banded by Dr. Wellborn in Little Rock Arkansas. Thought I would check to see if anyone else has been. I was banded on Sept. 25.

Bandit, I was banded by Dr. Wellborn in Little Rock also. Small world. -
Hello, I would like experiences from others to see if they have had the following happen to any of you. I was banded 9/25. Total loss 24. Haven't had a weight loss for 3 and a half weeks. Had two fills so far. Neither helped. Was tighter after surgery for about 3-4 weeks. I suspect that was swelling. Any advice on how to get a tighter fill? I was self-pay and my doctor does not use fluro. All blind fills. Last fill I got light headed and felt I was going to throw up. I didn't expect this surgery to be a miracle but did expect some help from the band. Do not have any restriction now. I can take 2 large metiformin pills in one swallow if you know the size of that pill. I can tell the band is there. Do get food stuck for a minute or two if I take big bites. But so far it goes downin a minute or two. I think I have a big band. She gave me 4.9 cc's first fill, no restriction, 1 cc this last time and no restriction. He started using this band in August so it is a newer one than he used before. Any help is sure appreciated. I am starting to get a bit discouraged.

I am about to get ready for work and I felt such a surge of thankfulness for all of you that I wanted to tell you. I am so glad this site is here. I am 8 weeks out and having a bit of difficulty losing at this point. Not enough restriction yet. It helps to read your posts. It helps to know I have people out there working towards the same goal I am. It gives me hope. Thanks all. Sue

24 here. Banded Sept. 25. No weight loss in 3 weeks. Lets keep this up. It helps to see all of you banded in September.

Thanks to all of you for your replies. I am still trying to hang in there. I can eat too much as a few of you asked. I have not tried to continue to eat all I want BUT I have noticed I can eat more than the first 3 weeks after surgery. I am not losing weight now so I am eating too much to do that. I know I need more restriction. Just did not realize it would take several fills to get it. I want to eat more often than I need to and more than I need to but at least I have not gained. Today is a new day and I will try harder today....I hope. I got this band because I had such a hard time losing weight.
-
Julie, I can eat two tacos and a salad for instance. I just did that and stopped even though I was not full.
-
Make 33, Thank you for your reply. How are you doing by the way?
-
I discussed it with them this last Tuesday. I do not think I like blind fills as how do you ever get it right. They tried. I was in the office with them at least 30-45 minutes. I don't want to be so tight I cannot drink but I do want restriction!

I started with a BMI of 37, weight 222, height 5'5". Banded 9/25. Total loss 24. Haven't had a weight loss for 3 and a half weeks. Had two fills. Neigher helped. Was tighter after surgery. Any advice on how to get a tighter fill. My doctor uses no fluro. All blind fills. Last fill I got light headed and felt I was going to throw up.
