    Acid reflux

My reflux has improved but I'm still on 40mg of prilosex a day. Doc says we'll stop it 3 months post op (july) and see how it goes. I had a hiatel hernia repaired at time of surgery so we'll see! I have read articles about GERD getting worse after the sleeve and patients have to convert to bypass. From what I understand it's uncommon but there's a whole thread on here about it. Doesn't look that uncommon to me! Oh dear. PriloseC. Not prilosex. Stupid phone
  2. You look gorgeous! What a transformation! Congratulations!

VSG With Simultaneous Hiatal Hernia Repair

I took 4 weeks off, went back in 3, but could have returned after 2. I had both procedures and an extremely painful recovery period for 2 days. I told you that because I wasn't prepared for it after reading so many posts on here about people not having much pain. I thought "well that's gonna be me, too! Very little pain!" Wrong. Doc says it was from all the gas after a 4 hour procedure. I've never had such bad back pain. Anyway, pain was tolerable before I left 2 days later and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I'm down 40 pounds in 7 weeks. I have so much energy and I'm loving life!

    My period has gone crazy!

Mine is crazy. I work in GYN and it's normal because of the rapid weight loss. I was sleeved 4/8

Thanks so much! I looked on pinterest and found a 3 carb bar with 10gm protein! 70 calories. I'll try both.

    Not losing. Not peeing

I did start losing again. Thanks everyone for the replies. I've noticed that I'm retaining water because I'm no longer on a water pill for my blood pressure. I was switched to one without. That probably accounts for the extra fluid and I haven't adjusted yet.
  9. Hi all. I was sleeved on 4/8. I've always been a drinker getting at least 90 ounces of fluids a day, primarily Water. Fortunately I was able to drink just as much after surgery. I am still getting about 90 ounces a day of water and crystal light. Again, 80% is water. However I am not peeing as much. Probably only 4 times a day as opposed to pre-surgery peeing of 10-12 times a day. I've asked my NUT and she said it's fine as long as my urine is clear and my mouth isn't dry. Why does this happen? Where does all the Fluid go? That brings me to my next question. I'm not losing weight and I wonder if I'm retaining all this fluid somewhere? I'm not swollen in my hands or feet. I lost 22 pounds since surgery but nothing in almost 2 weeks. It's really discouraging since I'm following the diet and also walking about 5 miles per day. I don't understand it. I have a fear that this is it. I've lost 20 pounds and I'm not going to lose any more. I've read posts that there is a "3 week stall" but I've passed that point. I see the doc on Tuesday for my one month post op and will talk to him as well but I wanted some opinions from people who have gone through it.

    carbs

Oh OK good. So I'm right around where I need to be and won't have to feel guilty adding a few more. I'm just sooooooooo sick of meat and cheese and eggs. I'd like to start incorporating quinoa and homemade protein bars if I can find a good recipe. I know protein bars generally have a lot of carbs for the small size. I just feel like if I don't start adding some variety soon I might set myself up for disaater

    Not losing. Not peeing

I've been off liquids for weeks. I'm eating soft foods now. Tuna, scrambled eggs... no problems with BM'S. Just not losing. Dunno.

    Isopure drinks

Passion Fruit wasn't that bad but they're a bit pricey

    Post op 4 days

Are you sipping or gulping? Try smaller sips
  14. Over thinking! I bought bullion individual packets. Much easier. You're not going to feel like digging for frozen broth.
  15. Absolutely I mean yes it's fine
  16. My PACU nurse tried that alcohol pad thing on me too and I swatted it right off my face. I work in Healthcare. Alcohol pads- ughhhh uhhb
  17. Hi all, I was sleeved on 4/8. Had a rough time for the first few days post op. The gas is the pits. Back to feeling myself now except for the exhaustion that has taken over my body. I get to eat today. I'm starting with an egg and an ounce of mozzarella cheese. I'm hoping the calories and nourishment help with the fatigue. Does the fatigue last anyway? Despite new foods? I'm so tired I'm in bed by 7:30 every night with a two hour nap during the day. Bonus: down 15 pounds since surgery!

    EXHAUSTED

Got in about 1/4 of the egg and counted the minutes until I could drink again. I think that's the hardest part
  19. As someone who has worked in ob/gyn for over 16 years I can tell you that dramatic weight loss usually benefits periods since your hormones are more under control. However I can't, nor can anyone, tell you that for sure. I have personally seen periods change for the better after weight loss. But I'm not a doctor and your doc may be better suited to answer that question. Best of luck to you!
  20. Hi all, This is my first post. My surgery is 4/8 and I am starting to have this overwhelming feeling (and sometimes dreams) that my surgery won't work and I will have done all this preop for nothing. I guess I can't grasp that I will feel full after 1/4 cup of food. It's so hard to imagine. Did anyone else feel like this? I'm worried to the point of actually canceling to avoid the surgery. I know it's probably a silly fear but it's a fear nonetheless. I also started the two week preop diet about 4 weeks ago on my own and am losing consistently. I've lost about 20 pounds on my own since mid-January. I don't know if that's contributing to this feeling? I'm so nervous! Help!
  21. thanks, everyone! I'm 5 days preop and I'm so super excited! I have no concerns anymore. I've been exercising consistently and I think that helps a lot. It keeps my mind occupied and of course I feel better after I do it and I think "that wasn't so hard!!!"... My goal is to lose 100 pounds but I know I'll be hap-hap-happy when I come off my blood pressure meds!!!!! Hope everyone is doing well and have a great Easter/Passover weekend!
