Band Slip - Revision Scheduled
HUSKERJILL replied to scmom's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Thanks Chrissi for the reply. I was hoping it wouldn't be quite so expensive, but I wouldn't want to live without my band. I was two weeks unfilled and I could see my self slipping back into my old ways. Thanks again - Husker Jill -
Band Slip - Revision Scheduled
HUSKERJILL replied to scmom's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I found out yesterday that I have a chronic slipped band. My doctor gave me a slight fill and hoping not to do a revision. Today I just don't feel great, slight pain in rib cage and almost wish he would do the revision. So for those of you who have had a revision - are you happy?, what was the cost? (because I am self pay). I just want to feel good again, like after I was banded. Any suggestions. Thanks Husker Jill:confused::sad_smile: -
Get to the doctor. I experienced the same thing and your band is to tight. I kept thinking as I lost weight the band would become looser and everything would become perfect. It only got worse. By the time I went to see my doctor I was sleeping in almost an upright position due to acid reflux. I doubt you have a slippage but it does sound like you are to tight.

Tell me what a revision costs? I just went to the doctor today and have a "very minor slippage" that he says we need to keep an eye on & that if my appetite becomes uncontrolable he will have to go in and fix the band. I paid for this myself and hope that it takes care of itself, but if not I'm curious at the cost of having to repair it costs.

I've been banded since November and have lost 30 lbs total. I've had my third fill and seems to be working. The one thing I find funny is that I have no trouble nibbling on a cookie or eating a piece of chocolate, but when I eat the goods things like meats and veggies I have a problem with them getting stuck. I can down a whole cookie in two bites and a tiny itty bitty piece of meat chew 32 times and sometimes still have problems. So, the jokes on me because my hot point is sweets. Good luck everyone.

I am in the same boat. I'm overfilled and was wondering how much weight it takes so that the band feels looser. I'm also a self pay and don't want to pay for an unfill and then in 2 weeks need another fill?

That makes sense. I will give it try because it is not afternoon or evening that bothers me. It seems like getting full before lunch is difficult. Thanks - Jill

Hello everyone 50 or over. I am struggling and need advice and/or support. I've had my thrid fill and very tight in the morning which I drink fluids to open the stoma. Once open I can eat most anything in large quantities, except meat. I can't believe I need another fill because I'm at 7.4cc this has to be head hunger. Any advice?

Has Anyone lost weight and felt restriction after 1st fill?
HUSKERJILL replied to swstacey1977's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I to just had my first fill on 1/8/08, no restriction. I know this weight did'nt come overnight and I also know that the band is a tool to help us lose weight, but it does get discouraging. I was banded 11/28/08, and have lost 20 lbs total. I'm falling back into to old habits and I need to stay focused. It helps reading everyone's comments and knowing that it will just take time and patience. Good Luck to everyone.:welldoneclap: -
I'm in the same boat. I can't stop eating. Banded 11/28/07, first fill 01/08/08. I know everyone says that will help, but since Christmas I'm definitely in my old habits of snacking and eating tooo much. I need a swift kick in the ____. Anyone who whants to lay into me is welcome.

I was banded on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday I had to force down liquids. Today I'm getting hungry, my stomach growls, but it feels like there's a ball in m stomach. I'm on a semi-liquid diet, soups, yougurst, shakes etc. I have no intention of cheating but could i be drinking to ast? Also what does it really take to stretch a pouch. This is a fear I think I will have, that I will eat too much. Help:help:

Hello everyone new kid on the block
HUSKERJILL posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
<p>Hello everyone - I have been lurking for some time and finally have my banding date of 11/28. I have tried to read everything out there and it seems everyone here is very supportive. I'm on the liquid diet with some hunger. I'm hoping I won't be this hungery afterwards?
