Using a straw to drink your fluids
Samantha Ann replied to mamie60's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told not to drink thru a straw, but im not going to chance it. However my waterbottle I use has a big straw, I do drink from that until it gets to a certain level and then i start taking the lid off. -
yes, yes! make sure you walk. You dont want your body to form blood clots. Remember the worst pain is always three days out. Then soon it will be a week out and you will see so many changes. I cant believe Im 5 weeks out. You will do amazing!

Samantha Ann replied to Jennyby's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
And my nurses never gave me a class lol. She was awesome. On breaks she would come to my room and we would cut up. She also would bring me stuff from home because I was sick of the hospital liquid lol. -

Dr. Ponce de Leon in Mexico
Samantha Ann replied to grandma54's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My mom had the sleeve done a couple of years ago in Mexico. It was a wonderful experience, however i believe they do they sleeve so different there. Shes thinking about going to my dr to have it redone. Best of luck to you. I know you'll do great!! -
I can tell you with me, I became dehydrated the first couple of weeks and was misrable. I started drinking more, and taking bigger drinks. I was so concerned about what not to do and it overcame me. Once she starts feeling slightly better, she will see what she can do and cant do. Im still learning what my body lets me eat, and what it doesnt and having to take smaller bites. Its worth it. Tell her to get those fluids in!

Ha, its ok! I never saw him besides him talking in the class, but its normal. Who see's you in the office? I see Mr. McDreamy hahaha. I stayed in the hospital for two days because I felt more comfortable. The rooms were nice, the first night I had an allergic reaction to the morphine so that was horrible. Other than that everything has been perfect so far! -

Can't tolerate solid after 12 weeks post Lapland to gastric bypass
Samantha Ann replied to SLONP-lapband2bypass's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Possibly you're too restricted? I cant imagine. For me, I havent been able to have any protein shakes, so I started eating before they allowed to get the protein I needed. I am doing well, but there are times that I do have problems. Im not hungry at all, but I make sure I eat through out the day. I have "bigger" meals when my stomach rumbles. Good luck! -
Good luck dear! It is soooo worth it! I am 5 weeks out and lost almost 50 lbs. Best decision of my life. Go look at my profile, and keep me posted on your journey! Much love! Samantha
