Hi, my name is Vickie. I just had gastric sleeve on Nov. 12 which was 5 days before my 58th birthday! I've struggled with weight all my adult life. I've been married for 40 years to my husband Gary, who has been very supportive of my decision to get sleeved. I'm a hairstylist of 26 years and operate a small salon ( 1 chair) in my community. We have 1 son, a sweet daughter-in-law and our 12 year old granddaughter. I always thought that those who had wls were taking the easy way out. Hah! Yes, I've sinced learned the real truth of this journey. What changed my mind? My doctor had the surgery 2 years ago. She has inspired me so much. So far, since I came home from the hospital, I've lost 9.5 lbs. I am almost finished with pos-op full liquid diet. I hate protein powder! I have struggled with this phase of the journey but it'll be worth it. I'm excited to be part of this group. I hope to find and give encouragement for this journey.
