    Leg cramps

This is definitely true, I was getting terrible leg cramps all the time, then I started taking a vitamin D supplement, and they have improved so much. I still get them from time to time but no where near as frequent as I used to

    How to bring it up?

I simply said to my GP that I am wanting to explore the option of getting the gastric sleeve, and if he knew any surgeons that he would recommend, my GP gave me some basic info on the sleeve and wrote me a referral for my surgeon, he was more than happy to help me
  3. I would take the earlier one, you would enjoy your trip to Paris even more if you've been out of surgery and lost a bit already.
  4. Mine is 1 week liquids, two weeks purée, three weeks soft food then start introducing regular foods back in,

    Facial Hair

Hirsutism is just the term for excessive facial hair, it can be genetic or hormonal
  6. My surgeon won't do bands and will try to educate candidates of the complications and the likelihood of them. I knew I wanted the sleeve as I wanted something permanent and had heard about issues with the band.

    Unsupportive partner

It's hard when your going through such a drastic change in your life and when you need support the person who should be your biggest supporter isn't. It's not just that he is unsupportive, he sounds cruel, with those comments. You need a support system to give you the very best chance at success. Maybe asking him why he is unsupportive of you. It's a time where you need to make tough choices and ultimately, your the only one who can make them.
  8. Also, don't compare your weight loss to that of your friends, everybody is different so every body is different. We all loose weight at different rates, there is no universal number. Concentrate on what your loosing, that's the only number that matters
  9. . I'm from Australia too, but my surgeon has told me it'll be 1-2 nights depending on how I recover.
  10. I read it's around 1 in 1000, but I'm with you, it's something I've thought of and am terrified of
  11. My biggest fear is not waking up after surgery. I know I will be successful post op (positive thinking!) but I fear not making it through the actual surgery. I had a full on breakdown the other day imagining I didn't make it through and my family dealing with the aftermath... Really morbid I know buts it's just how my mind works

    Secret sleever

I tell everyone, and if they don't like it they can go suck it, I'm doing it for me not them. That being said I have only had overwhelming support from people I've told. It's up to you who you tell and if you tell people, there is no right answer, it is a very personal thing so it is completely understandable to not want to tell people. Like other people said, if you are not wanting it to become public knowledge, be very careful with who you tell, you can't untell people

    Food Buddy

It's a great idea, I've got my sister, who has never been a big eater and it's great because we pretty much like the same things

    Gummi Vitamins

Not 100% sure but I think the reason that gummy vitamins are not recommended is because they are mostly children's vitamins so they don't have the required amounts of vitamins and minerals in them. But there are a few adult gummy vitamins, one I know of is Natures Way, not sure if it's an Australian brand though.
  15. I think some people just get caught up in their lives and genuinely forget what is happening in other people's worlds, this certainly describes me. Though I do understand your hurt, so how are you going?

    Liquid diet starts today

    Good luck! You got this!

LETS SEE SOME BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES????

You all look amazing! Your all such an inspiration! I can wait to be able to post my before and after pics
  19. Way too many to list them all, but for a few; shopping and clothes, traveling (the whole plane seat thing as well as having the energy to actually DO thing while traveling), I have always wanted to sky dive or bungee jump, not declining invitations to go out just because I don't want to be seen the way I am, not always being the driver when going out because I know that my seatbelt fits but others might not, not being exhausted after very little exertion, going to the beach in summer, like I said, way to many to list at once.
  20. Welcome! Wishing you all to best for your surgery and beyond. I wasn't going to tell people, fearing the exact same thing, peoples not so polite comments but I found myself now telling all kinds of people; family, co workers etc and I have had nothing but support and well wishes. It is a very personal thing and it is completely understandable your decision not to tell people and ultimately, it really anyone but your business.

    MY ARMS!

Is this coming from your surgeon?

    MY ARMS!

Talk to your surgeon, do not leave the hospital before you do, it may be nothing but it may be something serious
  23. I'm just over 2 months away from being sleeved and I can't wait, I'm itching to start this journey. Do your research, ask questions both here and to your surgeon/team. No two peoples experience is the same, some are extremely successful others not so much. Good luck with it
  24. It's always been something that was in the back of my mind but I always ignored it thinking it wasn't something for me. My wake up call was when I discovered I had hypertension and at 26 I knew I was way too young to be on blood pressure medication. I hope that within a few months of surgery and eating well and exercising I'll be off my medication. Oh and the daily battle with lower back pain helped with decision too.

    Coworker outed me

Yeah it's kinda crummy that your co worker said that and if you feel strongly enough you should talk to them about, but honestly does it really matter? So a few more people know you had surgery, it dos'nt change the fact that you did or that you are losing weight, looking better and becoming healthier. You just know for the future not to tell this particular person anything you don't want made common knowledge
