9 days post op, feel great :)
alyssadietrch replied to alyssadietrch's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well for the first week after the surgery I could have sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles, broth like bouillon, crystal light in water, Gatorade powerade. Right now I'm in phase 2, so I can have skim milk, nonfat yogurt, low sodium cream soup that's been strained, cottage cheese mashed up. I attached a picture of the stuff I can have now. -

Yeah I used to love the strawberry premade ones. And now I hate them, I've yet to find a Protein Drink I like. So I just make sure I get the protein in with the other foods throughout the day. I haven't tried the unflavored powder yet. -
Hello, So my surgery was 9 days ago and it went really well. I'm on the full liquid diet until dec. 8. Problem. I'm hungry all the time! My stomach is telling me to eat. I feel like I never even had the surgery lol. Is this normal? Any way to help it?

I'm on Prilosec. It helps with the acid but not the hunger. Lol -

I was lucky, my insurance covered it really fast. I went in for an informational seminar and the surgery was only a few weeks later!! Good luck -

There's also about a 10 minute warm up and cool down before doing those exercises. You can chose from jumping jacks, mountain climbers, etc. to get your heart rate up. -

I have no extra skin at all right now, but I've only lost 30 pounds so far. My doctor gave me a work out regimen to follow though. I can't start it until I get an okay from the doctor, which will probably be in a week or so. It consists of: planks, squats, step ups, push ups, resistance band training (shoulder press and standing row). In a circuit form for about 40 minutes 3-4 times a week. Doing these while holding 5-10 pound weights. There's a much greater focus on weight training than cardio. Building muscle to take up the extra space from losing the fat is key -

I had my sleeve 9 days ago, and I feel amazing. It's like it never happened The day of the surgery I was a nervous wreck, I literally wanted to jump off of the operating table after the nurse put my IV in. But once I woke up from the surgery, I was just tired. Not much pain except for when I would try to sit up or stand up (using stomach muscles hurt) The next day I was able to SLOWLY drink about 24 oz of Water mixed with sugar free crystal light. I had to drink 1 oz every 10 minutes. After every 6 oz I had to take a walk around my floor of the hospital. I moved slowly but it was fine I wasn't supposed to go home until day 3, but I was doing so well, I went home on day 2 in the evening the next day at home I was in pain and tired, probably because the meds the doc had me on weren't in my system anymore. By day 4 I went shopping at walmart and was doing much better. All in all, I'm very happy that I had the surgery. I've lost almost 30 pounds all together so far, I fit into some old jeans, and I feel amazing. -
Surgery 2 days ago. What now?!

I've been feeling a LOT better already. Walking around definitely helps. It's much easier to sip plain water than the protein juice, so I've been alternating these throughout the day. I only got about 8 ounces in total yesterday though. Hopefully today will be a lot easier, I feel like it will be! I'm not feeling like I need the pain meds right now, so I'm going to hold off and see how long I can go without taking them. As soon as I take it I just fall asleep. Lol. -
Hey! So I'm 21 years old. My sleeve surgery was 2 days ago, I did really well in the hospital. No nausea, I drank a lot yesterday, so they let me go home from the hospital a day early Now though, I'm at home, with much weaker meds, and it hurts. The bottom of my stomach under my belly button hurts a lot. Also I have a strong burning sensation from my stomach going up my chest in the middle. Also, I can barely drink anything. I'm having a hard time just getting down one 8oz serving. I keep burping it up, no vomiting though. Is this normal? When will the pain get better? I'm a college student so I really need to go back to school on Monday, but at this rate, I don't know if that will happen!! Any advice would be awesome Thank you!

I live on campus at my school, so I wouldn't have to drive. Just walk for about 5 minutes to get to class. I'm worried about sitting in the desk though, I don't want it to rub on the part of my tummy that hurts! -

Yes I just started the Prilosec this morning. It has helped with the burning a lot, but the burping is still constant. Even when just sipping water
