I got my 2nd fill Thursday (10/9) and I was the same way. It took longer for me to get the water down. And when I drink liquids, the first 2 or 3 swallows are slow but it goes better after that. I just tried to eat a scrambled egg and could only get down four bites before I got the tight feeling in my chest and got nauseaus. I'll see how it goes for the rest of the weekend but I might need to go back Monday to get some taken out.

Who's up for a 'Vegas reunion' party in 2010
tamspri replied to siouxsie sioux's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sounds like fun! Depending on work and family obligations at that time, I would lovove to be there. -
I take Bariatric Advantage chewable multi-vitamins and calcium. My program's nutritionist doesn't recommend Flintstone's because they don't contain enough trace minerals for adults. But the Bariatric Advantage doesn't taste bad; they come in flavors like watermelon, lemon creme, wild cherry, and chocolate

Those who have been banded, what are you eating?
tamspri replied to zeama's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on the 8th. I am on protein shakes, broth, sugar free jello, popsicles, and pudding, and decaf coffee and tea for another 2 weeks. Man, I can't wait for the mushy stage where I can at least pretend to chew something! -
Congratulations on your date! I was banded July 8th...and yes peeing that much is normal. :tongue_smilie: I know how you feel about not buying new clothes yet. It's great to be optimistic!

Whey protein powder that tastes good?
tamspri replied to ReiterDR's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I use Body Fortress brand at Walmart. They have chocolate and vanilla and actually taste pretty good. -
Hi Lynda, my surgery is July 8th, also. I know exactly how you feel but we are taking control of how we live our lives by going through this. This site has been a great resource to me. Good luck!

My surgery is July 8th and i've also been guilty of cheating a little on my diet. I have still lost weight and inches so it's not a complete disaster. Not to say that cheating isn't wrong, but it depends on the extent to which you didn't follow doctor's orders. There are many programs that don't require a pre-surgery diet at all and several people in that category have been known to splurge on a big "last meal" right before surgery without any problems. Again, not following the plan is wrong, but try to eat the right things from here on out and odds are that everything will turn out okay. Good luck!

I just got confirmation that everything is approved and I am scheduled for July 8th as my surgery date! I am so excited! :cursing: I hope to become familiar with as many July bandsters as possible, as my doctor's support groups mainly focus on RNY patients.

I haven't been banded yet, but it sounds to me that you may need to consult another doctor. Are there any other doctors within the same practice you could talk to? Telling you that you should be sleeping is unacceptable; there are many people who work off-shift hours (I am one of them) who that statement wouldn't apply. He should take the time to support you. If he can't answer your questions, he should make the effort to find out or direct you to someone who can.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Hi. It's time to re-enlist with insurance for my employer and I have a choice to make. Should I choose BCBCNC or Cigna? I currently have Cigna and I know that they cover lap-band surgery, but i'm worried that I may not be approved. My BMI is 47 and I have very mild sleep apnea and a herniated disk, but otherwise no other co-morbidities. Any advice would be much appreciated.
